The 1 negative about this park is the traffic on 742! It's incredibly loud and motorcycles use it as a speedway. It's even loud inside the rv with windows closed. Everything else is amazing! The river is right across the street with multiple ways to access it. There are some gorgeous trails within 10 miles of camp. There is wildlife to see. There was plenty for us to do over 4 days. Views of the mountains and trees is so beautiful. Cell service was fine despite being in a valley. There was one tight spot coming into the park but overall not bad. We were able to get our 5th wheel in with no problems. The only reason I wouldn't stay here again was the constant road noise. It made it really unpleasant to even sit outside. It was unfortunate because everything else was perfect.

I pulled in with a flat tire to fix it and continue on my journey but needed a new tube. This family running the campground are also avid dirt bike riders. They helped in so many ways.

Nice beautiful campground located at the bottom of the Famous Dr. Park trail literally across the road. The pit bathroom was immaculate clean. The host was very nice and mostly left me alone. I was in space 22. Some of the nicer spots were on the south end, I think. 24,25,26.

Hosts were amazing. Surrounded by trees, canyon walls and nature. On the other side of the road there is a spectacular river. Excellent for hiking or rafting. No water fill. No dump stations. Closest dump station is about 30 minutes of drive north east of the campground.

We had a lovely stay! The campground host was friendly and welcoming. The bathrooms were cleaned daily and stocked with toilet paper and hand sanitizer. The fire pit set up was super cool and had a grate you could lower to your liking. The area for the tent was perfectly flat. The hookup box included 2 regular 2 prong plugs. Sure it’s close to the road, but it wasn’t very noisy. There are no bear boxes at the campsite. It’s across the street from the Taylor river which is great for fishing or hammocking.

Great campground in Almont, about 20 mins from Crested Butte, and right next to both the Taylor River and where the Doctor Park mountain biking trail ends. You can hear the river flowing from the campground. All sites have electric hookups (and most, maybe all, sites had RVs). The bathrooms were super clean for no flush toilets. No water when we were here. Will definitely stay again!

We LOVE ONE MILE!! It’s always our top pick when we think about camping! The host, Danielle and her son, Josh are so friendly, fun and helpful! Can’t wait for our next visit!!

We had a great weekend here. Quiet but also centrally located to do day trips to Gunnison Black Canyon and Crested Butte. They were upgrading their water system so we had to fill up at a nearby campground, but since we knew that ahead of time, it was no problem.

Loved our spot here. Long thin campground along the road with the river on the other side. Very friendly camp hosts and we'll maintained facilities. No water when we were there, hope that gets fixed soon.

It's a nice campground, in need of severe maintenance, no fresh water, they do have 30 amp electricity ran by a concessionaire who's doubled the prices and sell it back to the taxpayer for a profit. Roads need to be maintained, better than most in Gunnison National Forest. They sell wood for $10.00 a bundle of about 5 pieces of wood, which is on the excessive side, again a vendor.

Great campground about 25 min from CB. The camp host, Doug, was friendly and super competent. He keeps the place immaculate. Heads up about 1/3 of the spaces are first come first serve - ask Doug because he is way better than recreation.gov 🙂

This campground is very beautiful! It has full hookups, plus the restrooms and campsites are clean and kept up very well!

Great National Forest campground. Several sites with with electric hook a few with full hook up. 25 camp sites in total with the last one just before the turn around. Camped here two years in a row and will continue coming back. About 30 min to Crested Butte.
