It's a retirement community. Residents are all 55+. No amenities, unless you count a small laundry room as an amenity. Nearest city or town is more than 15+ minutes away, which is Leesburg. Sometimes takes the office staff a little longer to get something done that needs done, but it does get done.

I wanted to share my experience that was not good. When i came in to reserve a spot I was told by Christina that we could take a ride around the park so I could pick a spot. Debbie the manager came in and joined us on the ride around. I picked a spot. No, no , Debbie said, “that does not get much shade”. I picked another spot. No, no “thats not good either”, Lot 29 will be a good one for you. I felt pushed into this spot but tried not to think to much about it. After about a month I noticed my camper getting this thick yellow coating on my camper. It felt sticky . I noticed it on my car as well. I had mentioned it to several people in the park what I noticed going on with my camper and no one said anything. I decided to wash the rv again and went on the roof to start and it was so slick, i had to finish the job on my knees because it was very slippery. Dangerously so. This was not my first time washing my rig either. I mentioned again to someone in the park, Bob, the widower and he said that he heard on the news about some sand storm happening somewhere in the world, maybe it has something to do with that. Did not make sense but was really bothering me by now. Could not figure it out. I had been there for 4 months troubled by this, not understanding why this was happening. Finally after 5 months I started talking to this guy on the dock and he told me it is a sweetgum tree. And that several people before you have left angry because it can take the paint off your car. Needless to say, Debbie the manager, Bob the widower and several other people knew this was happening but thought they could just gaslight me with the hopes that i ‘d be a good little girl and forget about it. Also, the park had high hopes that I would be the widower Bobs next wife. Told to me by the widower himself. Teusday coffee was gossip hour about how this was going to happen. What I learned is beware of Debbie the manager because shes two faced and becareful for Bob as he has no integrity. Caught him in many lies. And lastly, beware of lot 29.. its got a sweet gum tree , it flooded out during storms and stunk to high heaven, mosquitos are absolutely out of control. And the lot itself is very high maintenace racking leaves and sweetgum balls dropping all day everyday. I don t know how many times i slipped on one of thise sweetgum balls and almost landed on my butt.

This is such a unique park. The residents here are so friendly. It just has a very special feel about it. The park is clean and quiet. The fishing dock is very nice. You encounter lots of wildlife. The lots are kept up via the park. You're encouraged to make your lot your own. The staff are friendly and sweet. I will be sad when we leave to go back home. I highly recommend HCRV.
