Better Sleep at a Truck Stop than This Campground I stayed in the tent area here, hoping for a quiet night. Instead, at 1:30 a.m. a diesel truck pulled into the site next to mine, left the engine running, and the driver went to sleep in the cab. The engine noise and exhaust fumes carried directly into my tent. After an hour of this, I asked the campground host for help enforcing noise policy. I was told, “I will let my husband know,” but no action was taken. The truck ran all night long. Between the noise and the exhaust, sleep was impossible. The most disappointing part wasn’t just the truck, it was the lack of any response from staff. Rules meant to protect campers’ experience were ignored, leaving guests to deal with the problem on their own. If you’re looking for rest and a reliable camping environment, this isn’t the place. You’ll get a quieter, healthier night’s sleep at McLean State Park—or even at a roadside truck stop.

Nice little campsite. Not very big. Lake beach area had no concessions or kayak rentals open. Bathrooms had showers that were good. Offers washer/dryer for $1 and $1.50 a load. Site 58 was long and had some trees but starlink worked. Some sites have no trees. Only 2 sites on the water. Good place for a few nights.

Wonderful campground at an unbeatable rate! Friendly staff, clean showers and restrooms, and overall a great and respectful campground! Me and my dog love coming here! Tent sites are peaceful and semi-secluded - I believe all sites are less than a 5 minute walk to the water!

Site 34 was clean and level with nice picnic table and fire pit. 30 amp hookups with regular plugs too so we were able to charge our e-bikes, big plus! No privacy but did have a nice little trail to the bathrooms and beach. Bathrooms were clean and even had a separate section for handicap showers. Laundry room, playground, dump station, boat parking and more. This is not a quiet camp, very group and toy friendly.

I really enjoyed the visit and recommend it! Some things to remember, and some reviews may have these items: Sites are gravel and not level. Rain makes them muddy, and gravelly. Maybe they haul stuff in through the off season. I used spot 27, a pull through, yet I recommend even pulling a trailer, some of the sites are more level than this one. And they are wide and deep, so not that close to other campers. (Hint: on 27, stay downhill left side for up to 70 feet) I drive a 36 footer, pulling a trailer, and the narrow little roads were more than adequate, and paved. No trees over me were even close! Great water station and dump area.

Great spot right on the water, clean bathrooms, wood for sale $6.00 a bundle. Sites with 30/50 and water if needed. Tent 🏕️ are absolutely stunning. Close in proximity to either Hancock, Calumet, Houghton.

Beautiful camp ground and Rv sites!!! They have a filling station for potable water and waist dump but individual sites are electric only, perfect for a week’s stay. Are spot is big and has extra room, shady with beautiful water views!!!

We enjoyed our stay here. The lady checking us in was very nice. We are a 35ft 5th wheel with a long bed dually truck. She recommended a different site to us since it was avaliable and would better accommodate us. The wome s restrooms were clean but the men's could have used a little more attention.

Absolutely loved this campground. Very accommodating!! Austin took such great care of us when we arrived we found that the tent site we reserved was not big enough for our tent. He gave us 3 other options that were on the property! Along with that he brought us a fire ring because where we chose it was not actually a site. He also checked back with us twice during out stay to make sure all was well. And have great insite to where we could take our 4 dogs swimming!!! I loved everything about this campground besides of course the resident skunk that came to our site twice at night during our 4 night stay. Luckily we were able to keep the dogs quiet and no one got sprayed. Bathrooms were cleaned twice daily and were very nice! Hot water to boot!! Trash dumpsters were with in walking distance of sites and the boat ramp was so nice to have to close as we did bring our kayaks. Well done with this park. While we stayed we hiked Hungarian falls which is about 15 minutes away. Must see!! And drive to copper harbor. The area is beautiful and Red Dog Adventures will be back!!

We averaged $26 / night for E50/I. Our dirt site in this heavily forested city campground overlooked a scenic lake. Sites were nicely spread out and with the heavy wooded area we could not easily see sites beside us. Internet service was good. The biggest drawback is that we could not get level and therefore could not open our slides. Our site sloped 8 to 10 inches between rear and front tires. Because of the inability to level, I gave this 3 stars. It would've been lower if the price had not bee so low. All of the Keewanaw Peninsula is within an hour drive. Not to be missed is Brockway Mountain. We watched the sunset over Lake Superior 700 feet below us then drove 10 minutes to the other side and watched the full moon rise over Copper Harbor 30 minutes later. It was fantastic!!! The self guided Delaware Copper Mine tour taking us 1400 feet underground was also very interesting.

Campground was quiet, clean, sites surrounded by a lot of trees and shrubs so there was separation from the neighbors. Some sites were very secluded. Right on the water so nice views and easy boat access.

Campground was clean and well kept. The campsite had been raked to remove larger rocks. There were many people with pets and children but none were intrusive or loud even in the evenings. Checking in was fast and easy. The showers and bathrooms were in good condition. There were also many things to do in the area, from good restaurants to great nature sites or museums. I will be coming back again.

I went on a camping trip for a week and one night forgot to book a campsite. I happened to find a campsite available here. As it was 10 pm I had to do it online and there’s only one photo of each campsite and they’re not very good. I chose a wooded site as I figured the ground would be soft. We showed up around 11pm and attempted to put our tent up. It was impossible. The ground was covered in rocks and tree roots. The rocks were big we kept tripping on them. I know it was late but I don’t know how they expect anyone to sleep in a tent on their site. They also only have like 12 tent sites. I hope those are better than the one we were at. We ended up having to sleep in our car because we could not put our tent up. We were at site 4 The bathrooms were pretty clean. Very hot and construction going on. The showers and toilet stalls are very small.
