Hanging Rock is absolutely stunning! The hike to the top is moderate and totally worth it for the breathtaking views. The trails are well marked, the waterfalls are beautiful, and the park is very clean. Perfect spot for hiking, picnics, and photography. If you’re in North Carolina, this is a must-visit for nature lovers!

Beautiful park. Been up to the top plenty of times. Good luck finding the cave. The walk around the lake is good but sometimes a little hard to find the trail connection points if you veer off a little

This state park is well-maintained and offers a variety of hiking trails ranging from easy to strenuous, each of which is rewarding to complete. All trails converge at a common endpoint where you can enjoy a swim in the lake—this is particularly refreshing and great for recovery. Facilities including cold showers and changing rooms are also available.

Great day for a hike. We took the lake trail, which was about 1 mile long. It was fairly flat with great views. It was an easy hike and fun with a group of kids. Swimming is fun there in the summer but the lake can be cold all year round. We have also taken other trails in the past.

Best hike in the park. The views are awesome. The hike has moderate inclined for the first 3rd, flattens out in the middle, and then gets really steep and rocky in the last 3rd. Watch your footing carefully here and watch for snakes. The hike may be strenuous at times but it's completely doable and worth it.
