The staff at the check-in office were very friendly. The roads to access the park are narrow, and the roads inside the park range from new asphalt to broken asphalt and rutted gravel. Our space was a pull-through style, but it was not long enough for a 30-foot motorhome towing a Jeep. The space was generous in width but not nearly level front to rear. The showers did not produce hot water but we're mostly clean. The advertised WiFi was nonexistent in our location, and we had no cellular coverage from Verizon. Large Park with many seasonal and full-time residents. For me, it would have to improve WiFi greatly, repair hot water in restrooms, and spend some time leveling pads before I would even consider a return.

Let’s start with I NEVER leave bad reviews
. But If I could leave negative stars I would. 😂 we booked for the month. We travel with my husband for work. Husband gets there and there is no cell service. WiFi is slim to none. Pictures DO NOT accurately reflect the sites. We made the choice to find other accommodations better suited for us. We were told when he left that we would get full refund minus a $50 cancellation fee. We were refunded less than that. When my husband called to verify, he was greeted with nothing but attitude. Berated and told they were found us a favor by letting us stay! Also beware if you have children, he was told they don’t usually have kids there bc they “cause incidents”. So disappointed in the way my husband and our family was treated. Proceed with caution when looking to book here.

Rented short term while looking for new home, staff was very friendly, very accommodating, and very helpful. Clean bathrooms and showers, nice pool and fun activities. Wifi is spotty but in the mountains you have that almost everywhere. Would definitely recommend

While bike packing the GAP to C&O it was tricky locating a campground in the area. I was glad to find this location that had real restrooms & warm showers. The hills to the campground with all my gear wasn't easy. The soil was very rocky to put a few stakes in. I didn't know exactly where my site was when booking over the phone (tent with electric to charge all my devices) & once I discovered it was in the most further section away from the office I was bothered. Fortunately the ladies in the office heard my concerns & relocated me near the bathhouse without an additional charge. It instantly made me feel safer as a solo female rider. Thank you!! I appreciate the picnic table & ability to charge my expensive gear at my site. The only weird part was how empty the campground was but I arrived on a Monday in September.

Campground was very nice. Super friendly full-timers. Site was level. Cell service was nil, but WiFi was able to back up. Not fast, but functional. Staff was super friendly and helpful all around. Store was stocked well. Great for the kids. Putt Putt was taken out a few weeks before with a storm, but the kids played anyway. Most of the time spent is at the pool which was super well kept. Overall great trip and the kids had a fantastic time.

We're new to camping, but Happy Hills was a good choice for our first time out. We were there mid-week in April, so there were not a lot of other people. We enjoyed the quiet solitude. The staff here was super nice and helpful. We went to dinner two nights at a nice little restaurant a few miles now the road( Potomac River Grill). The food was great!! We chose this campground because of it's close proximity to the Western Maryland Rail Trail. Our bike ride on the Rail Trail was just what we hoped for. I would definitely recommend this campground and plan to go back again.

This place is like my family. The owner, Terry, and Pam, along with their family, run the entire operation. The work hard to make the overall family experience one you will remember for a life time. I have been a seasonal camper here with my family for over 20 years. Keep up the hard work. Thanks to all.

We have been camping here for 10 years and we love it for a multitude of reasons. I go each year during Halloween and hang out around the bonfire, listen to the DJ and talk to a lot of friends old and new up there, but this weekend I actually went through the haunted barn. I was amazed at the level of creativity and work I saw in each room I entered. I know all the blood, sweat and tears that goes into making this event a success each year, and it effects not only the staff but the volunteers as well. They put their heart into everything they do to please their customers. If you have a chance to get up there, go! It's worth the money. It's not just the haunted barn you get to enjoy, it's the music, the fun, THE PEOPLE. đŸ„°

Not the greatest experience at this campground. Our site was really not setup for a travel trailer our size. The tree branches were low so we had to try and squeeze between them to get the slide out. Even then the branches were still rubbing on the camper and we could not get the awning out. The site was not very level so it took a bit to get things right. I would not go here in October. The Halloween festivities are cool but for some reason they blasted a cannon boom every 60 seconds for like 4 hours until midnight, even when asked to stop they wouldn't. Not a pleasant experience, definitely stay away from the barn area in October if you intend on getting any sleep. Otherwise not a terrible place, lots of golf carts, utvs, 4 wheelers and apparently the middle of the road is where folks like to have social hour. There were some road washouts as others have mentioned. Just ok. Probably won't be going back to this one.

Just left there and it was wonderful. My husband and i got to meet Terry, his daughters and Josh and they are very nice people. Very down to earth. Anything we needed or questions we had they did not hesitate to help with. They keep the grounds beautiful. We booked again before we left and cant wait to take out grandbabies. Loved it.

We showed up on Friday morning for check in and we were supposed to have two sites together but it didn't go that way we ended up being split up our friends were two or three spaces up the road and I seemed like they were putting favorites together that had already been there. I might be wrong but that's what I was reading. Not a bad spot that we had. We enjoyed our stay but they should stick to the program.🙀

Nice and quiet, but to tight for our unit. Should have been informed prior to reserving. Should have had 50 Amp, and only had 30 at our site. Tried calling and even left messages but office's was always closed. Had 4 blocks of wood under back tires and still could not level enough to put slide out.
