Harpers Ferry KOA is a great campground. We stayed in our own travel trailer but they do have nice cabins. They have lots of amenities, a super nice staff, and lots of activities. It was our first Halloween event weekend and we were very impressed with everything they had.

We’ve been camping for over 30 years and staying at KOAs for at least 20 of them — and this is the first time we’ve ever felt compelled to write a negative review. Even more disappointing, it’s for a campground we’ve stayed at and enjoyed before. The positives: The lady working in the wine store was an absolute sweetheart — truly one of the highlights of our stay. The haunted house was also adorable and well done. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. Upon arrival (check-in at 3 PM), one of our cabins wasn’t ready or cleaned. While we understand things happen, the attitude at the front desk was unprofessional and dismissive — not only toward us, but toward several guests who were also frustrated that check-in times had passed (some waiting until after 4 PM). When we finally got into our cabins, one was far from clean. The counter was sticky, there was water pooled near the sink and tub, only a half-used roll of toilet paper and one spare, no trash bag in the bathroom bin, no trash cans in the main area, no paper towels, and no coffee maker. Thankfully, we came prepared with our own supplies, but that’s not the point — guests shouldn’t have to. Quiet hours were not enforced. Children were yelling and a dog was barking past midnight on Friday and until 2 AM on Saturday. The campground also had a strong, unpleasant odor that we’ve never experienced at any other KOA. When we went to rebook for next year on Saturday (as we always do), we were told my sister’s cabin had already been given away — despite KOA’s long-standing policy allowing rebooking until Sunday checkout. We were then informed that this location is now owned by “RAC” and has “different rules.” None of this had ever been communicated before, and it completely disregards loyal guests who return year after year. To make matters worse, when we tried to choose new spots to stay together, we were suddenly told there was a $30 nonrefundable fee just to “lock in” sites next to each other — something we’ve never encountered at any other KOA. Between the dismissive attitude, unclear policies, and new surprise fees, we decided not to rebook. Considering prices for next year have increased by $100 per night, that decision seems justified. This campground needs to do better — much better. KOA has built its name on consistency, cleanliness, and family-friendly hospitality. This location, under its current management, does not meet those standards.

I thought I had reserved the last sight availed online. Turns out I didnt. My fault Not sure what happened. We arrived and initially they said the were booked. Turns out they still had the one sight I thought I had booked, so I took it. 549.00 for 2 nights. ( WE SUPPLIED THE MOTORHOME ACCOMODATIONS, SO THIS WAS PRETTY much a pricey downhill parking spot.) The downhill gravel sight with a downhill concrete.pad and nice yard furniture. Unkept.however, grass and weeds mixed, not trimmed. Painted wood railings and steps throughout the campground had old peeling paint Little concession bar near the pool was open . They serve pizza.and wings. Neither was available because of a broken oven. They offered ice cream instead. The only.place serving.lunch in the campground and closed on Sunday. I doubt for religious reasons since they offer no faith service of any kind. Lots and lots of dogs accompanied their masters. It was EXTREMELY quiet at night for us anyway. We would have heard a pin drop, but didnt. Had to buy a pair of plastic ramps ( 100 bucks, 34.95 at Harbor freight) to attempt a.level motorhome. Even with leveling jacks we couldn't get the leveling bubble on the scale. Yes the eggs in the pan ran downhill. Been coming here over 50 years. It was best when Dale owned it. It has gone completely to the dogs. In many more ways than one. I would look harder and go out of my way to find a place more worthy of my business. Sorry, but definitely TRUE.

Our family stayed here, and loved everything about the facility. Especially, the cleanliness, and the amazing staff!! Our 15 year old granddaughter lost her diamond sweetheart ring in between 2 decking boards at the pool area. Our hearts were broken when we realized we couldn't retrieve it. After spending the day at the pool, I mentioned to a staff member of what happened. She immediately reach out to help us find the ring and sent us 2 of the most kind, and generous men that came to our rescue and removed the boards as well as crawled under the decking area and found the ring!! They most certainly did not have to do this by any means. They simply did it because of their generosity to help another out in a time of need. Humongous shout out to those 2 men, Lou and Mitch!! You guys rock!! Our family will definitely be staying again and again!!

Spent 3 nights at the KOA and was very pleased. I had no complaints about how level the spot was - needed to use my ramps to go up about 2 inches - nothing out of the ordinary. The pool was heated and very large and clean. The bounce pad was in a prime location. They have an on-site store and wine/coffee bar, arcade, etc. Our family visited and they could easily get a parking spot for the day. I see lots of reviews saying the spots are very close together, but we didn't mind it - that's the vibe we were going for - the place had kids everywhere - but that's why we went. The location to Harper's Ferry and the Park can't be beat. Had consistent power and water - overall it was a wonderful time.

Where do I even start? Extremely overpriced for a tiny camp site. Wifi is advertised but doesn’t work at all. Attempting to do school work with my son on his online apps was impossible. Cable doesn’t work. Bathrooms were disgusting. Jump pad was closed the entire time. One of the playgrounds didn’t have any mulch or sand in it for over two weeks that we were there. Loud construction going on in the morning. Tons of dogs barking. Laundromat is dirty and usually taken over by people that aren’t staying at the KOA, and a lot of the washers/dryers were broken. KOA’s are generally a ripoff but this one went above and beyond. Some nights were over $80 a night for a tiny 30 amp, gravel site that isn’t level. If that wasn’t enough they charge you a $10 “resort fee” on some nights. Not sure what that’s for other than to take more money from you.

Well maintained campground. Level pull thru site. Even though the sites were close together, there was still room for a picnic table and fire ring. It wasn't as close as other KOAs that we have been to. They have putt putt and walkable to Murphys farm. Close to Harper's ferry national park.

We had an enjoyable stay. We had spot 47, paid the extra to reserve it. It wasn't bad, we were able to level out pretty easy, hook ups were perfect. The area had had a lot rain prior to our arrival so it was really muddy. But you could see that they tried to work around it by putting hay out especially in our spot. I am certain if we had asked for more they would have done it. It is very tight though. It neighbors were super nice and tolerated out stupid car alarm randomly going off. First trip with our new rig, we had no idea that it had a motion sensor and our dog was setting it off. We didn't use the amenities but that was on us. Everyone on staff that we came in contact with was great. You can see all the improvements going on and that was nice to see. Like most KOA'S the WIFI was terrible but the area in general seems to lack any phone service. We weren't there for internet though.

Great to find a KOA in a terrific location that’s open year round. Every staff member was kind and caring towards their guests. Sites were good size with plenty of options in nice wooded areas or in open large pull through spaces for any size RV. Good mixture of seasonal/full timers along with those like us on a short stay or passing through. Our dog enjoyed the dog park and nice walks around the large property. The campground store had everything you need like a large scale grocery store for anything you forgot or run out of during you’re stay. My wife and I enjoyed the mini golf course. Off-season here is very relaxing would like to come back when rest of the amenities open up in peak season as this KOA has a lot to offer guests. So much to do in the surrounding Harpers Ferry area truly a top notch KOA. Was a great place to take our first trip in our new camper. With living under an hour a way we’ll definitely be back here many times for more convenient get aways.

This is one of my favorite places to camp with the family. One of the better KOA’s- friendly staff and clean bathrooms
