Overview

Located along the scenic Osage River arm of Truman Lake, Berry Bend is a standout US Army Corps of Engineers facility that offers travelers a tranquil escape into the rugged beauty of the Missouri Ozarks. Location & Surroundings

The campground is situated just a short drive from Warsaw, MO, placing it at the heart of the region's premier water recreation area. The surrounding landscape is defined by the expansive Harry S. Truman Lake, which covers over 55,000 acres of water. This specific area of the lake is characterized by winding channels and timber-filled coves that are perfect for exploration. The park is nestled within a dense forest of oak and hickory trees, providing excellent privacy between sites and a cooler environment during the warm Missouri summers.

Amenities & Park Features

Berry Bend features several well-maintained loops with many sites offering electric hookups for RVers. While the sites are designed to feel integrated with the forest, the park provides convenient access to a sanitary dump station and fresh water fill-up points. Visitors can make use of modern shower houses and flush toilets, ensuring a comfortable stay in a natural setting. For those bringing watercraft, the on-site boat ramp is a major highlight, providing direct access to some of the best fishing spots on the lake. The park also includes playgrounds and designated swimming areas for family recreation.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Beyond the campground, the town of Warsaw offers a charming mix of history and recreation. You can visit the Truman Lake Dam and Visitor Center to learn about the area's geography or walk the scenic Drake Harbor Trail. Anglers often flock to the nearby Lost Valley Fish Hatchery, which is one of the largest and most advanced in the nation. The lake itself is famous for crappie, walleye, and hybrid bass fishing. If you prefer land-based activities, the surrounding hills feature numerous trails perfect for bird watching and photography.

We stayed at Berry Bend for 1 week. The campground is well maintained. bathrooms are clean. Can’t say enough good about the campground hosts Betty and Jim!!! They are so friendly! They are out and about in the camp ground all the time either in their truck or their lil buggy. Sometimes we would see Jim almost every hour. Always checking on things and with people. Also they were great resources for things to check out in the area. Our site was C78, shady, quiet and right across from the bathroom. Only negative thing I can say is the cell reception wasn’t good we could receive texts but we would walk down to the lower sites by the water and we had full service or go to the Shelter house. We will be back in the fall!

Great weekend at Berry Bend and Truman Lake! Stayed at C020. Fresh gravel in the campsites. Large spaces. Clean bathrooms, but a bit of yuck coming up when flushing. T-Mobile horrible signal, but we're camping, so it's OK. It was mostly quiet. Hosts were attentive and driving around to make sure all was good. Will stay again due to the large spots and availability of electricity. Boat ramp is around the corner. All good!

The campground is very nice. The shower house was very clean. Only down fall is the cell service is horrible !! But this is a pretty remote campground. Also be prepared... there are a massive amount of bugs!! Stayed 4 days and had a pretty good time.
