Camping on a lake. What more can I say. Well, how about wonderful and friendly staff? Almost every site has plenty of room for my 30-foot travel tailer. Room to breath between sites. Heavily forested. Nice paved roads throughout. Well maintained grounds. 50amp with water. Affordable, especially with the Seniors National Park discount. Fish or swim from your site. Grill at site. And did I mention camping on a lake? This is a jewel in the Corp of Engineers system. I signed up for 4 more visits for the year.

Quiet, peaceful campground to relax and take in beautiful Hartwell Lake. Hartwell is a nice town with quite a few local family owned restaurants to choose from. All your usuals are here also, walmart, Home Depot, and all your usual fast food joints (we don't eat fast food, so I can't rate them). We go into town once or twice a week and stroll the downtown district. Lacking are any real historic markers and they don't have much in the way of museums or places of interest. If you are here to relax and sit by a fire at night, this is the place. Firewood is sold across the street from the check in gate and is priced right and burns well. And be sure to visit the dam here. it's pretty awesome

My wife and I live local and have camped here several times in the past we wanted a getaway through the week while we still worked and we're able to get an amazing spot at campsite 14. Miss April at the office was wonderful to meet. She always goes above and beyond to make sure you are taken care of the campsites are always clean and well-maintained. The bath houses are heated. It's always a wonderful experience.

Beautiful, well laid out. My slot was pull thru but I didn't realize I picked a place closest to the highway. Constant road noise. Next time I'll pick the other side of the park.

Super nice people. Last year, they went out of their way to help us when a mysterious tree ran out behind our Winnebago while backing up. Last week we stopped by just to dump our tanks, but didn't realize they didn't take credit cards for dump fees, only cash. The nice folks took care of it for us! BTW, their dump fee is only $5, which is considerably less than we have been paying at the Flying J. The campsites are gorgeous!

I will never give this park my money ever again! This is second time that they were rude! Tell me nicely, don’t fuss at me like a child! Check out time was 2 and we were off of our site by 1:45. We went to let our 4 yr old play on the playground one last time then went to restroom and washed our hands and had to wait in line to put trash in dumpster. We reached the gate to leave by 2:30 and got fussed at. We thought as long as we were off site (like all other campgrounds) that we were okay. It was not a busy day either. Attendant was not nice to us at all about it. (Wouldn’t have been bad if he talked to us like we were human.) There are too many other campgrounds with much nicer, appreciative attendants than this one. This one also does not have a gate coded lock in case of emergency to get out. You’d have to wake the rude attendant to let you out if you had an emergency and needed to leave after 10. They do not have soap, paper towels, or hand dryers in restrooms to wash your hands. Never again!!!

We love this campground! We have been camping here for year now. Jason the host is super friendly and always smiling. My only complaint would be on the other host. I do not know his name but he is rude. He seemed like he did not want to be there and was not happy that everyone was having a good time. He had an attitude about the car passes every time. I understand that we all have bad days but it seems to be every time we visit is a bad day for him. Out of all my years of camping I can say that most everybody we have come in contact with has been extremely nice. Also most all host are amazing too, but this guy is definitely got a chip on his shoulder. I think he need a vacation away from camping!

A GREAT place to view the eclipse of 2017! This is a great place to RV. The area is beautiful, the staff and facilities are great. We had a beautiful view of the lake and there was lots of room between camping spots. We stayed for 4 days and we wish it could have been longer. If you are in this area and looking for a great RV camping spot, this is it! UPDATE! We returned for a vacation in October of 2019. It was beautiful. We love this place!
