Camping on a lake. What more can I say. Well, how about wonderful and friendly staff? Almost every site has plenty of room for my 30-foot travel tailer. Room to breath between sites. Heavily forested. Nice paved roads throughout. Well maintained grounds. 50amp with water. Affordable, especially with the Seniors National Park discount. Fish or swim from your site. Grill at site. And did I mention camping on a lake? This is a jewel in the Corp of Engineers system. I signed up for 4 more visits for the year.

Quiet, peaceful campground to relax and take in beautiful Hartwell Lake. Hartwell is a nice town with quite a few local family owned restaurants to choose from. All your usuals are here also, walmart, Home Depot, and all your usual fast food joints (we don't eat fast food, so I can't rate them). We go into town once or twice a week and stroll the downtown district. Lacking are any real historic markers and they don't have much in the way of museums or places of interest. If you are here to relax and sit by a fire at night, this is the place. Firewood is sold across the street from the check in gate and is priced right and burns well. And be sure to visit the dam here. it's pretty awesome

My wife and I live local and have camped here several times in the past we wanted a getaway through the week while we still worked and we're able to get an amazing spot at campsite 14. Miss April at the office was wonderful to meet. She always goes above and beyond to make sure you are taken care of the campsites are always clean and well-maintained. The bath houses are heated. It's always a wonderful experience.

Beautiful, well laid out. My slot was pull thru but I didn't realize I picked a place closest to the highway. Constant road noise. Next time I'll pick the other side of the park.
