Fabulous campground! Sites well maintained & level. Beautiful scenery. This is our 2nd trip here & it's one of our favorites!

This is the first KOA campground I’ve ever stayed in. It was a former state park. Looks to be a little behind on maintenance. Bathhouses are only 2. With no full hook ups, this is not enough. Too far to walk when in a hurry. Sites on the water mostly pull through and fairly flat. Most have a deck and steps down to the water. We had paddle boards, a kayak and 25 ft boat and had plenty of water front for all these. If it wasn’t for location on the water, I would never return. The dumpsters partially restrict the dump station access for longer trucks and campers. Neither washer in the bathhouse worked. We visited the third weekend of August and had quiet nights. Prices fair for waterfront sites without FHU on a beautiful lake. We will visit again even though it sounds like I was complaining. Just trying to give you information so you are informed and know what to expect.

Spent this weekend at Hartwell lakeside campgrounds and the area and the lake is very beautiful and I had a great time just getting away and enjoying the peaceful nature and atmosphere! My only complaint was the bathrooms, they have a sign that’s says it’s cleaned daily but I witnessed the guy cleaning the ladies bathroom and all was done was a quick wipe of the toilets. The bathroom had lots of cobwebs and dirt all over the floor. It was obvious that the bathroom has not been swept for a while. Lots of bugs in sink and I couldn’t even wash my hands.

I practically grew up on this lake & at this campground, before it was KOA. Coming back when I can, is always a fabulous experience...especially with family. The campground has changed some, mostly for the better. There were a couple of things that need to be updated & grass that needs cutting...etc...but it's still beautiful & enjoyable!

I wanted to love this campground so desperately. It was the most beautiful and affordable site we've ever camped at, but that's where it ends. We had to park and hike into our site, which we didn't expect. That's why we book with KOA, and not more primitive grounds. Imagine carrying a Yeti down a staircase and across a peninsula to your site, along with your other luggage. Then back to your car again in the early morning. Also, the bathroom was a very long walk from our site, and there was no toilet paper in the entire bathroom this morning. Here I am finding a clean bathroom on the way to my next destination... Lastly, one neighbor site was loud and using excessive profanity, and our other neighbors showed up at 11pm and kept us up off and on until 3am. I know this isn't the campgrounds' fault, but there are usually employees around to shut that behavior down.
