Havasu Landing Resort Campground
Overview
Overview
Havasu Landing Resort Campground offers a unique desert-meets-waterfront experience on the western shores of Lake Havasu. Located on the Chemehuevi Indian Reservation, this destination provides a relaxed alternative to the busier city side across the water. It combines a rustic desert atmosphere with modern resort conveniences, making it a popular choice for those looking to escape the crowds while remaining close to the aquatic action of the Colorado River system. This park serves as a gateway to both the tranquility of the desert and the excitement of one of the region's most famous reservoirs.
Location & Surroundings
Situated in Havasu Lake, California, the park is tucked away from the main highway, offering a secluded and serene feel. It is positioned directly across from Lake Havasu City, Arizona, accessible via a convenient passenger ferry service that runs throughout the day. The surrounding landscape features rugged desert terrain and sweeping views of the water, providing a striking contrast between the vibrant blue lake and the arid mountains of the Mojave Desert. The sunsets here are particularly noteworthy, casting deep orange hues across the water surface.
Amenities & Park Features
The facility is well-equipped for various RV sizes, offering sites with full hookups and wide gravel pads. The sites are designed to accommodate large motorhomes and fifth-wheels, ensuring a comfortable stay for short or long-term visitors. For those traveling with boats or off-road gear, the park features:
- A full-service marina with boat slips and a launch ramp for easy water access.
- Direct access to miles of open desert trails for off-highway vehicle use.
- On-site laundry, clean showers, and a grocery store for daily essentials.
The nearby casino provides gaming and multiple dining options right along the shoreline, making it easy to enjoy a night out without leaving the resort grounds.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Beyond the casino, the primary draw is the water itself. Visitors often spend their days boating, fishing for bass, or enjoying personal watercraft in the protected coves. The vast desert trails surrounding the park offer miles of off-road exploration for those who bring their ATVs or side-by-sides. For a change of pace, the ferry ride allows for a quick trip to visit the historic London Bridge and the bustling shopping districts in Lake Havasu City. These excursions provide a perfect balance of wilderness adventure and urban amenities.
Who This Park Is Best For
This resort is ideal for boating enthusiasts and anglers who want direct water access without the typical congestion found in urban RV parks. It also appeals to desert explorers looking for a comfortable basecamp for off-roading adventures during the cooler months. Because of its remote California location, it suits travelers who appreciate a quiet, community-focused vibe during the day and the convenience of nearby dining once the sun sets. It is a prime choice for families and retirees who enjoy recreational water activities paired with the solitude of a remote setting.

We stayed at the RV park, so no rooms. Wide open spaces. Laundry room. Bathrooms with showers. Great view of Lake Havasu city across the lake.

Gravel lots some sites very unleveled. Gravel drive so can be dusty if you have a lot of traffic. FHU fair price KWH $ .45 so electric is costly. Fairies ride across the lake to Havasu are $5 for round trip. Casino in walking distance.

We dry camped by the lake. Everyone was friendly. The Thursday night security guy told us we could build a fire without a pit or ring, which we didn't think sounded safe, so we didn't.
