Very nice and quiet location. We stayed for 5 nights and this spot is close to a lot of history on the Modoc Indians. Jim was amazing and very friendly. Would stay here again.

What a gem! Hawk's Nest did not disappoint! Huge trees, big RV spots, playground for the kids, and beautiful scenery everywhere you look. This place is amazing! The owners are accommodating and keep the park up so nicely. If you are looking for a secluded spot in the trees- this is your place.

Travelling thru we came across Hawksnest resort. Jim the owner was an excellent host of his beautiful property. We tented one night and it was a nice quiet sleep with a gorgeous sunset. Great place to stay. Great rustic charm .

We were on our way from Lake Tahoe, traveling with kids, and needed to make a stop for the night in our RV. We decided to stop at Hawks Newt RV Camp and take the opportunity to see the lava beds. Upon arrival, we met Jim, the owner, who was an extremely pleasant individual. We felt very welcomed, and he made sure we had everything we needed. The camp is very clean, with spacious spots for RVs, showers, and toilets, all exceptionally well maintained. There’s a huge play area for kids, and we even played soccer with my son. I would highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again in the future. Oh, and even though check-out is at 11 AM, they allowed us to check out later since we wanted to see some caves.

Enjoyed our time there. Very quiet and clean. It will be a little dusty but so be it. Seen them hosted at check in, nice people. Close to Lava Beds NM. Only negative is the shower was terrible. Wive and niece were in theirs and myself in mine. The water was either scalding hot or ice cold. Couldn't get it adjusted. Get that fixed and it would be 5 stars!

We reserved cabin 10 because it has a full kitchen and bath, plus a queen sized bed - our minimum requirements. But we were questioning our decision because an excessive heat warning made air conditioning essential and there was nothing about AC in the cabin description. Imagine our delight when we drove up to the cabin and saw an air conditioner in the window! This cabin is new and equipped with a top notch range and refrigerator. it is more spacious than we expected, with a nice sofa and a spacious dining room table with four comfortable chairs. The cabin had a couple of minor flaws that were immediately addressed after we pointed them out. Lava Beds NM was well worth a day of our time, and this cabin made that day possible. Thank you Hawk's Nest!

We recently had our stay at Hawks Nest and it was a good experience. They answered all our questions and they even got us in a day early as we were ahead of schedule on our trip so that was greatly appreciated. We did a tent site and had no problem fitting our larger tent in our area. We did have a hard time figuring out where the sites were as some of the tent sites were not well labeled. All in all a good place and location. It was easy to find and made doing our activities in the area easier.

Great facility in a great location. We stayed here for one night in a cabin on our way back from the BMW MOA Nationals in Oregon. Beautiful location. Tranquil and spacious. Very friendly operators. The cabin was super comfortable and well equipped. We appreciated the full kitchen and the electric heaters during our stay. The shower facilities were some of the cleanest we have ever seen! Totally loved the place and can't wait to come back

Rhonda was amazing! I booked through Hip Camp and turns out....the campground is closed until April! However Rhonda let me park my RV anyway and my pup and I were safe and warm for the night!

This campground is nestled away from the highway boasting a lot of great amenities such as bathrooms, showers, laundry service, cabins, RV parking, and tent campsites. You can pay when you get there or reserve your spot online. The attendant is very nice and helped us with a late check in (9pm). If you're tent camping, I recommend something to put your tent on as the area is dirt, rocks, ans pine needles. There is a new playground for kids and a small shop in the office.

An amazing place to be on vacation. Definitely recommend going!

The cabins are vintage/rustic so don't expect glamping. The site is next to a pine forest and smells very good. Kinda small, everything is clean. Good base for exploring the surrounding area.

Spent a week here in May, 2021. Loved the peace and quiet. Nice big spots. Great walking on a dirt road behind the park. 30 minute drive to Lava Beds National Monument, but most of that is on the rough road to the entrance where you are forced to drive slowly. Tukelake is about 30 minutes away for groceries.
