My girlfriend and I had a wonderful experience at this campground celebrating our 2 year anniversary. There are only a few sites for tent camping but they were very clean and secluded from the rest of the RV spots. The management was friendly and helpful, and the bathrooms were very clean.

I stayed at Heceta Beach RV Park and the RV park itself was nice enough. This is a review of the unfortunate service experience I had on my way out. This will echo many of the other bad reviews this placed has received so it would be a good idea not to make the same mistakes I did. First of all, I willingly admit that I was wrong in the fact that I stayed 30 minutes past the check out time. My girlfriend requested earlier that morning for a late checkout, but was told no. This is fine and absolutely at the discretion of the park so we began wrapping everything up and packing up our things. She mentioned the person who made the decision seemed rude, but I brushed it off as things can be taken out of context. While I was packing up, I noticed the grounds keeper staring in my direction on more than a few occasions. Then he drove over to my site and pulled an aggressive maneuver in his golf cart without saying a word to express his displeasure with me not being done. I was pretty much all hooked up and ready to go at 1115 or 1120am and once again, the grounds keeper came over this time to tell me I was late. I apologized, but did tell him I didn't appreciate him being rude to me about it. He did not like that, got out of his cart and began walking to me to continue expressing his displeasure with me still being there. He claimed there were three rigs waiting to get in. When I pointed out that there was no one even in the registration area and that there was several open sites available, he got even more upset and threatened to charge me for another night, tell the owner, and then peeled off in the golf cart. As I was leaving, other guests saw this encounter and said he was being very rude and encouraged me to write a review so here it is. When I tried to go to the registration desk to tell someone about my encounter, it turned out to be a fruitless effort. The front desk person as well as the owner both had the same stance. They simply did not care how I was treated. As long as I was wrong for being late on checking out, it turns out that I didn't deserve to be treated with any grace, compassion or decency. Such an infraction was so harmful to them that treating a paying customer in such a way is very much warranted in their eyes. The best reasoning I got for having such a strict rule for the check out was it's high season, they only had a single grounds keeper and staying on schedule. I shouldn't have to mention it was a Tuesday, very quiet, no one coming or going, with many open sites available. At the end of the day, it was a very unfortunate experience. When I initially booked with the owner, he told me they were old school. I was wrong to think that meant some semblance of hospitality. So just a warning for others, if you follow their rules, I'd imagine it will be a pleasant experience. However, if you break their rules, it appears they will go out of their way to express how very unwelcome you actually are. This is simply my experience, but if you look at other 1 star reviews, more than a few other people have had similar experiences.

We have stayed at many RV parks, and have never been treated so rudely. Very unprofessional, rude and no compassion. Everything was great, booking and getting set up was great. The day of leaving, we had some emergency phone calls come up. I asked if we could check out just a little later than 11am. This one grounds keeper was very angry and just saying no no no no. I tried to explain that the calls were an emergency (medical-family). We were 30 minutes late to check out, which is our bad. But the way we were treated was very unprofessional. This guy came by on a golf cart every 3 minutes in an aggressive manor. When we were just finished and ready to leave, this same guy had a heated argument with my partner. He stated that there was people waiting for our spot (there was no one), and there was more than dozen open spots right next to us. He threatened to charge us for another night. Again we are only 30 minutes past check out. And we were going as fast as we could to leave. This employee spent over 5 minutes arguing with my partner. Other people staying at this RV Park witnessed the encounter, and said that was horrible. Other RV parks we have stayed at have been slightly flexible with check out as long as no one needed the spot. In this case no one needed the spot, no one waiting, and so so so many open spots. My partner went to talk to the owner about the employee that was being aggressive towards him. The owner didn't do anything about it. The employees called my partner multiple different names. Over all, they show no compassion or enjoyment for the RV lifestyle.

Cell service sucks here, but if you like the peace and quiet, you'll love it. No satellite service. Very cold when there, but that's expected for the time of year there. ( May to June 10th)

We stayed here for 6 months during the fall/winter. It was quiet & a GREAT stay. We loved the privacy and the staff was so great! It's walking distance to the beach, and has wild bunnies. We loved staying here. We will be back in the fall!!!!
