Close to the town of West Yellowstone, but actually over the state line into Idaho. A peaceful lake area with walking trails and camp sites. We loved our quiet morning exploring Henry's Lake State Park! Saw some gorgeous birds and other wildlife on our visit as well.

We spent about two hours at Henrys Lake with our kids (ages 2–11) and absolutely loved it. The lake is stunning, with sparkling waters framed by a breathtaking mountain backdrop. From the moment we arrived, the welcoming staff at the entrance made our visit even better, offering helpful tips on what to see and do. The park is very well managed and organized, with clean restrooms (though without running water), a spacious RV park, plenty of picnic sheds, and well-maintained campsites. One word of caution—be aware that the lake has leeches. Our 5-year-old had a brief leech encounter while playing in the water, which was quickly handled but worth keeping in mind if you’re wading or swimming. Overall, it’s a beautiful, peaceful, and family-friendly spot—perfect for a quick visit or a longer stay. Highly recommended!

Great picnic, lake recreation place. There is a campground with mini cabins and camping sites. They have fishing, kayaking , boating , swimming , picnic table pavilions as well. The beach is rocky with lots of very cool rocks on the shoreline. The water was clear and nice to walk in. The rocks are very small so it’s easy with water shoes. We ate lunch here and played in the water with the kids. We did not go in the campground, but it looked very nice. The staff at the booth was very friendly and eligible. It did cost dollars for a day pass (cheap) . There are restrooms available plus a handicap accessible picnic area. The views are amazing as the lake is surrounded by mountains and fields of sage brush which smells amazing. As you pull in, there is large field of kettle down in the valley, but the mountains in the background. Definitely worth a stop. They have kyack rentals as well. There is a nice boat launch as well, with fishing pole rentals.

We rented a cabin for the night. Didn't have any problems. Bring bug spray. Mosquitoes love it here. Good sized lake. Fishing, boating etc... happens here. The bathroom and showers were clean. Easy check in and out. Very quiet and peaceful.

Beautiful State Park with great Lake views, a large boat ramp, picnic spots, a few hiking trails and a short bike path. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. Campground has clean bathrooms, hit water and showers. They are cleaned daily. Trash is picked up daily from 7:00-9:00 Am, just leave in a bag at your campsite sign. Firewood is expensive so bring plenty! Fishing is excellent, but that means the bugs are also very thick so bring netted enclosures and plenty of spray 30 minutes to West Yellowstone entrance but there will be a wait to get in. Go before dawn to avoid this. Watch for wildlife on the road!! Like REALLY watch it. Don't speed and at night I'd suggest going at least 5 under.

Great location; close to West Yellowstone entrance. Quiet, clean, and plenty of hiking areas, fishing areas, and great camping spots. Bathrooms were clean and warm. Free showers for campers. Kayaks available for rent.

Well what a special place this is. Been here twice in 3 weeks and literally can’t wait to come back. Even though I’m still here:) The park itself is clean with big spaces and lots of room between sites. Great private shower including family/disability and always so clean. The workers here are just the nicest and so very helpful. The lake has amazing fishing and loads of birds including the beautiful swan family pictured with the babies.

Amazing views of Henry's Lake and the Mountains surrounding. Hot showers and super Hosts. Clean bathrooms and campgrounds. Super boat ramp and HUGE parking area for Day Use. NO RV dump available as of July 2024. Come on, State of Idaho Recreation...you can repair this and get it going again.

Great state park near Yellowstone. Mist sites only have electric and water and right now they don’t have a dump station. There are beautiful views, lake access and some hiking trails.

Campground nestled in a valley about 20 to 30 minutes from Yellowstone. The showers and bathrooms were exceptionally clean and well maintained. Our campsite was not huge, but it served our purposes. Be advised, the dump station was out of order when we stayed. So, no way to dump when leaving the park. I believe there are 8 sites that have full hook-up, but no dump May/June 2024. There is a nice walk path along the water and several other trails to explore. One night, a mama moose and her baby visited the campground. If you are interested in birds and waterfowl, there seemed to be an assortment of both. If access to phone signal/ internet is an issue, I had 5G while there and was able to work online from our campsite using my phone's hotspot. Would like to visit this park again.
