We visited Pete’s Lake campground last summer with our renovated camper van. The grounds and facilities were well kept and the camp host was friendly and helpful! Only pit toilets and no showers but we brought equipment that would make do. Highly recommend this campground if you are looking to be within 45 min drive of Pictured Rocks Lakeshore

Nice area. Clean pit toilets. Cute beach. Not super far from anything. Only downside is that some people weren't courteous enough for "quiet time".... but overall would come again.

Hiawatha state forest campground (no showers only pit toilets). We liked that names with reserved days were right on the site post. This made check in way less complicated than it has to be (never seen this in WI). The campground host were very friendly. They greeted us right when we were setting up, then left us alone until we went to purchase some fire wood, then they helped us load it up (purchased alot at one time). The sites were big, pretty deep, and mostly private. The lake looked clean. Not much of a beach but a grassy area. We snuck back to one of the walk in sites as it was closed and not reserved. It looked even better then the "normal sites".
