Great campground whether you are staying one night or a few days. Our experience was fantastic, from check-in, by the nicest people, to a quiet night at a spacious spot.The grounds are decorated for Halloween and you can tell a lot of thought, work and love went into the decorating .They have a Halloween event today for all the children here and in the area and many activities throughout the day. How nice! To the person who gave one star because they don’t like Halloween decorations but actually love the campgrounds, how mean-spirited! Even if you hate Halloween for some reason, why would you leave one star and bring down the ratings of these nice people. Thankfully they have so many other high ratings that it doesn’t really impact. As I said…. very mean spirited. Thanks for a lovely night here! Highly recommend!

Came here for some nice family time. Only to find the whole camp ground decorated for Halloween. (If you want to decorate the office. You do you.) The drive to my camp site should not come from a horror movie. Very disappointed. The camp ground is very nice. Large lots and well maintained. This is a camp ground not a scare house.

This is a beautiful campground. The camp host was very nice and very accommodating. She made sure our every need was met and went above and beyond to make our stay a pleasant one. The cabins are just adorable and very clean. The site was very private and quiet. I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it.

What a gem! Can’t say enough good things about this campground. Location is gorgeous and very well maintained. Sites are LARGE! Owner was amazing, so friendly. Highly recommend staying at Hickory Grove!! Oh, and check out nearby Princeton, Illinois, cute little town. 😊

This campground deserves more than 5 stars! It is a great place to bring your family for a nice and relaxing get away. The park is immaculate with a lot of updates to make your stay comfortable. Every person we’ve encountered-whether it’s staff or other visitors- have been the nicest people we’ve come across! We are always welcomed here like we are family, which makes our stay that much better! I would highly recommend booking here to make your next family trip or quick weekend getaway the best yet!! :-)

This is a beautiful well maintained campground. It is spacious, and loaded with Black Walnut and Hickory trees out in the middle of the cornfields. There is a lot more room between campsites than most campgrounds. I plan to make it a regular stop on trip from East to West and back.

Beautiful campground, incredibly well maintained. Sites are very spacious with lots of shade. Nice walking trail adjacent. Owner is very friendly and accommodating and has a wonderful sense of humor. Would most definitely stay here again and highly recommend.

Hickory Grove is an absolutely lovely campground! The sites are generous & the grounds are extremely well kept. This is a HUGE property that winds through the trees, I highly recommend taking a walk through to see it all. While most of the lots are seasonal, all are immaculate & you can really tell that everyone takes pride in their piece of this oasis! We were originally booked to stay 4 nights but extended 1 more. The day we arrived, our little cat escaped from our RV. We looked around for her for days and finally decided to make flyers & let the community know to keep an eye out for her. When I brought a flyer to the office, Joan didn’t just agree to hang it and watch for her, she contacted local animal control to arrange for me to borrow a live trap to help catch our girl. Next, Joan asked one of the seasonal residents (thank you Will & Carol!) to bring some of their live traps to give us a better chance of bringing her home. After 2 nights of traps, we were successful & were able to continue our adventure with our family intact! This isn’t just a lovely campground, Joan & Dave have created an incredible community and I cannot recommend them enough.

My husband and I stayed here. We love it! The owners were awesome people! So friendly and helpful. Our campsite was awesome it had so much space, it was so quite and peaceful with full hookups. We loved it so much we’re going back again in September. We made lots for new friends. We even loved all the sites they recommended to us to see. Thanks Joan for an awesome long weekend.

Just because my parents are the owners of this park does not mean I am giving an unfair review. My review reflects directly on how I think this campground is. I also see the side that most people don’t. My parents work long hours everyday to make this campground the most comfortable and safe place for people to stay at. They are constantly accommodating others and working all day long to make sure their business is top notch. I am beyond amazed to see how well my parents have done and how well they handle the not so pleasant people in this world. I learn so much about running a business just by watching them. This campground is absolutely beautiful and my parents work extremely hard to keep it this way. I highly suggest giving this campground a chance and coming to see how gorgeous it is for yourself. A lot of the work my parents put in goes overlooked by many but never by me. Running a business is not easy but they are the people who make it the best it can be.
