Hidden Hill Campground

Overview

Hidden Hill Campground offers a classic camping experience in the heart of Ohio. This family-owned and operated park emphasizes a peaceful atmosphere where guests can truly disconnect from the bustle of daily life. The park is characterized by its beautiful rolling terrain and mature trees, providing a shaded sanctuary for those traveling with motorhomes, trailers, or tents. It is a place where the sound of the wind through the leaves replaces the noise of the highway, creating a serene environment for relaxation and reflection.

Location & Surroundings

Situated in Newark, Ohio, the park is conveniently located yet feels remarkably secluded from the urban world. The wooded landscape of Licking County provides a natural canopy that keeps the sites cool and private during the warm summer months. While the campground feels like a hidden gem tucked away in nature, it remains easily accessible to major routes, making it a reliable and scenic base for exploring the rich heritage and natural beauty found throughout the central Ohio region.

Amenities & Park Features

The facility provides a functional mix of camping options designed to accommodate diverse preferences. Guests can expect the following features during their stay:

  • Full hookup sites with water, sewer, and electric service.
  • A refreshing swimming pool and a safe playground for children.
  • A well-stocked camp store for ice, wood, and essential supplies.

The park also offers a clean, well-maintained shower house and on-site laundry facilities to ensure that long-term travelers stay comfortable and refreshed during their outdoor adventures.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Visitors are perfectly positioned just a short drive from the expansive recreational waters of Buckeye Lake State Park, where boating, swimming, and fishing are popular pastimes. History enthusiasts should not miss the opportunity to explore the nearby Newark Earthworks, a site of great cultural and archaeological significance. Additionally, nature lovers will appreciate the world-class botanical collections and scenic walking trails found at the Dawes Arboretum, located only minutes from the campground gates.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is an ideal match for family campers who appreciate a quiet, traditional environment rather than a high-traffic commercial resort. It serves as an excellent weekend getaway for Ohio residents or a relaxing, scenic stopover for cross-country travelers. Those who prioritize a wooded setting, friendly service, and a slower pace of life will find that this campground fits their travel style perfectly, offering a genuine connection to the outdoors.
