Hidden Paradise Campground

Overview

Hidden Paradise Campground offers a refreshing escape tucked away in the heart of rural Indiana. Established along the winding banks of the Flat Rock River, this park covers 80 acres of diverse landscape, providing a mixture of shaded forest and open recreation areas. Known primarily for its crystal-clear spring-fed quarry, the campground serves as a seasonal destination for families and outdoor enthusiasts looking for a classic camping experience. It strikes a balance between a natural retreat and an active park, ensuring a memorable stay for those who enjoy the great outdoors.

Location & Surroundings

Situated in the quiet town of St. Paul, Indiana, the park is conveniently located just off Highway 421 between Indianapolis and Cincinnati. The surrounding landscape is defined by the limestone cliffs and the gentle flow of the river, which carves through the local terrain. While the immediate area is largely agricultural and quiet, the park’s position provides a secluded woodland atmosphere that focuses on the natural beauty of the region. Visitors will appreciate the tranquil rural setting, which offers a peaceful respite from the noise and pace of modern interstate travel.

Amenities & Park Features

The standout feature here is the 15-acre Dream Lake quarry, where visitors can enjoy swimming, jumping platforms, and inflatable water obstacles. For RVers, the park provides sites ranging from basic water and electric to full hookup options that accommodate various rig sizes and power needs. On-site facilities include:

  • Clean bathhouses and laundry facilities.
  • A camp store stocked with essentials and snacks.
  • Dedicated areas for scuba diving, kayaking, and canoeing.

Beyond the water, the park offers wooded hiking trails and a playground, ensuring there is plenty of activity available for all ages within the park boundaries.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

While the campground itself is a hub for activity, the local region offers unique side trips for curious travelers. A short drive away is the city of Greensburg, famous for the unique tree growing from its courthouse tower. Nature lovers can explore the scenic Anderson Falls or spend an afternoon fishing along the river banks. For a more urban excursion, the world-class dining, museums, and professional sports venues of downtown Indianapolis are less than an hour away, providing a great balance of rustic charm and metropolitan convenience.

Who This Park Is Best For

This destination is ideal for active families who enjoy spending their days in the water and their evenings around a campfire. It is also a premier choice for scuba diving enthusiasts looking for a local inland site to practice their skills. While it offers the necessary utilities for modern RVs, it maintains a rustic, community-oriented vibe that appeals most to travelers who prioritize recreation and nature over high-end luxury resort amenities. It is a fantastic choice for anyone seeking a scenic, water-focused retreat in the Midwest.

Highly recommend this campground. Staff was extremely friendly. Store had everything you could possibly need. The facility had everything we were looking for. Lots of space and picturesque views of the river. Plenty of trees to give that woodsy feel. Will be back many times.

Hidden Paradise is just that! A hidden gem, an oasis of what camping is all about! Where families disconnect to reconnect. The staff there is amazing! They make sure your experience with s always top notch! The river has many access points, there’s table rentals available if you want to stay for the day and swim! Everything is so clean- the staff works tirelessly to make sure the campground is free of debris and trash!

Good swimming spot for family and friends to enjoy and get away from the summer heat. I gave it 3 stars because the place is pretty expensive and you have to have a life vast on at all times, what's the fun in that. I understand if the children and little ones have to wear it, but for an adult, come on.

Nice campground in a relatively remote spot. The campground was clean and quite. The store was well stocked and the staff was friendly. The swimming like looked like it would be fun. I would definitely stay here again.
