This is a very nice campground, but I only gave three stars overall due to the issues I have with them related to price/value. The full hook-up sites are relatively level concrete slabs in an un-level park, which is very nice, however, sites are close together and have no shade. Float trips and fishing are the main draw to this park, but I feel like they are priced like a resort minus the resort amenities. Being full most weekends justifies the cost for them, but the price makes me avoid this park for longer-term stays. I recommend the park as a camping destination, just be aware of the cost.

We've went to HVO and used their powered sites for the last 2 years. They have a great location and their management is very responsive and addresses issues quickly. If you are looking for a family friendly place to camp this is a good choice. If you want to get drunk and be loud you should probably go to NRO.

I brought a big group of girls camping and had the best experience. The people were great. The bathroom were very clean. We all loved it here. We will definitely be coming back in yrs to come. This is a camp ground. Not a hotel.

Just spent a fantastic weekend here! Campsites are big-rig friendly with full hook-ups. It's right on the bank of the Niangua River. You can rent rafts and kayaks and float from there; they bring you back in a bus. Very nice camp store with a walk-in beer cave, supplies, souvenirs and great prices. They offer pizza and other hot foods made fresh.

I have used Hidden Valley twice, and both trips were great. We floated the lower route ( the upper route is no longer available). The staff was great. The equipment was good (I would suggest bringing a seat cushion if you are in a kayak. They have Perception 11.5 feet sit on tops that track well and can handle someone my size (250lbs). The scenery was lovely. I fished as we went. I'm told trout are the go-to fish. I did see several caught by others. I was after smallmouth bass and caught 5, which was pretty good considering the heat and time of day. The only issue (which is personal preference) I had was that the trip is LONG. Put in at 10:30, got out at 4:30. We went with the flow of the river and took 2 15-minute stops. It's probably a bit much for youngsters.

Flat sites, next to the river, easy access to Bennett Springs. Lots of Porta potties but I only used the actual bathroom facilities. All were clean and usable. Would definitely go back.

We have been coming to HVO for at least 10 years now. We have had nothing but great experiences. The staff is very friendly and treats us like family. I can’t imagine a year going by without camping here. Have recommended to lots of families and friends and they have also had nothing but great experiences. If you are considering camping here, don’t hesitate and do it. You won’t be disappointed.

They're great all-around! The grounds and buildings are well-kept, too. In fact, I saw one of the shuttle drivers handle an embarrassingly aggressive customer with calmness and composure. Then, shortly after emptying his trailer, I saw the boat wrangler observe a loose 5 year-old and return him to his campsite. Good folks!!

This is one of the best float and camp locations in the state! The camping/RV sites are large and clean with plenty of room. Nice concrete pads that, if you’re lucky, are basically right on the river. The cabins are very clean, cool, and perfect for families. Great staff at the general store is always willing to help. Imos pizza for the days you don’t feel like cooking and all the prices are extremely reasonable. Thanks for a great time and we will be back next summer.

Hidden Valley Outfitters is an amazing place to be in general. The river going through the property is beautiful, clear and 65° year round. We had the pleasure of having our wedding ceremony at this grassy peninsula near the water surrounded by trees. We also had our reception at their large pavilion on the primitive camping side. Matt helped coordinate all of our booking needs to make a River Float trip Wedding weekend as smooth and unforgettable as possible. The property is well kept, the cabins are clean and comfortable, and the staff was friendly and helpful! We also had almost 100 people attend the HVO float the sunday after the wedding. It was incredible! I am so grateful we had our almost 200 person wedding weekend at Hidden Valley Outfitters!

HVO is one of our favorite places to camp. The RV park has all the amenities we love. Great owner- Gary, manager- Matt, and camp hosts who go out of their way to make your stay pleasant and enjoyable. We love the added safety features at night that helps keep this campground among the best of the best. This place is the cream of the crop.

Stayed here for 2 nights over Halloween weekend. This place has changed since 1st time we came about 5 years ago. Sites are level with picnic tables and fire ring. The camp store is equipped with everything you need. Halloween is an absolutely great experience here for entire family.

Very nice place! Has large RV area as well as a large"camping" area. Both have river access. The camp store is very nice and well stocked. The kids will love it with play grounds, basketball court, volleyball, disc golf and river swimming. There are multiple water features. The place is well maintained and clean. The only thing that keeps me from giving 5 stars is they don't have any secluded camp sites in the woods, but what they do, they do well! Wish I could give them 5&3/4.

This place is beautiful! Concrete, level pads. Over flow parking if you have an extra vehicle. They have a playground for the kids if you aren't playing in the river. There's a pavilion if you are with a larger group. They also have rentals (kayaks, rafts, and canoes). **Only one caution** If you come after hours, pull into the store parking lot. The road to the campsites are through the parking lot. If you try to use the outside road, you will be taking a 25 minute, gravel road detour to turn around. Don't trust Google Maps on the quicker turnaround!! Go back to Hwy 64. You can't make the turn in the first "turnaround" and it's not really a public road anyway. Trust me.
