I camp May-September every year and have camped many places. This place was the worst I have been to, especially for Labor Day weekend. For the price, I would expect the place to at least be maintained/cleaned up. Bathroom was disgusting, there was toilet paper all over the floor but none to use, the floor was covered in I’m not sure what. The double giant dumpster were both overflowing and the smell was so strong you don’t even want to walk up to set your bag next to it. Labor Day weekend and the place was a ghost town. They need to get some staff to go around and actually maintain the place and care for it, not just sit in the office to collect money. We paid for a site with our own water hookup and ended up having to share with 3 other campsites because only 1 worked. You would be better off staying on state land, it would be the same if not better experience but a fraction of the price. My family will not be back here.

Disappointing Experience – Would Not Recommend I booked a full hookup site months in advance for the July 4th weekend, excited to enjoy a beautiful area, but unfortunately, the campground fell far short of expectations. The site itself was poorly maintained, with tall grass, large stumps, dead limbs, broken picnic tables, and exposed wires in the road. The advertised amenities, including playground equipment, were either broken or completely missing parts. The bathrooms were unclean and lacked basic supplies like soap and toilet paper. The worst part of our stay was the power outage on the hottest day of the weekend. We left our dog in the camper with the A/C running while we went to the beach. When we returned, there was no power, not just at our site, but across the entire section. Our camper was unbearably hot, and our 18-month-old Great Dane was dangerously overheated, panting heavily. Seasonal campers told us that unreliable power is a known issue at this campground, but management never communicated this to us. There was no call or warning about the power issue, and no one from the campground reached out to check in. After returning our key card and explaining the situation, management promised to follow up the next day. Three days later, still no call. On a positive note, they did refund us for leaving early, but the lack of communication and overall experience made it clear that we won’t be returning. I cannot recommend this campground to others. There are better, safer options out there.

The campground is in the perfect location - close to the town, close to the township beach with great access to the Higgins lake. The staff is really nice, good food. What unfortunately is not great with this campground is its amenities. We stayed here over the 4th of July weekend and ended up leaving a day earlier. We had full hookup however on the day that was the hottest our camper started to experience AC issues which we initially thought was our fault but quickly found that it was a whole line of campers that had the same issue. To say the least, it was inconvenient for us and for our camper. The kids playground is ancient. The structures were so outdated that I was afraid it will break any minute. The sites are not well taken care of, we had to ask the staff multiple times to come and weed or mow the area because grass was up to our knees. And lastly, the bathrooms at the main entrance are an absolute disaster. When we first arrived, there was puddles of dirty water in them from the showers, almost each stall had no toilet paper, someone’s shoes were just laying there and showers had people’s hair products on the floor. Unfortunately it was like this when we first arrived and then 4 days later when we were leaving. While I loved how peaceful the campground was and how close to the beach we had, I will not be coming back here again.

We stay at many campsites in MI. A variety of campgrounds. This is one of the least cared for campgrounds we have ever seen. And it’s really too bad considering the full hook up service and location. It doesn’t seem to be cared for at all. Seems like a bunch of kids are running the place. We did meet the property manager, finally. You would think with the holiday weekend coming sites would be mowed, cleaned up - not the case. Also water dripping from the water connections is a simple fix but not seemingly a concern. The staff tho are super friendly. The first night two boys came around to ask about wood and a pizza order. A nice surprise. However they never came again to offer so……. We won’t stay here again. We do hope they can do simple things to clean up the campground and make it seem like it’s cared for. Tall grass and weeds and leaves are not appealing.

We absolutely loved our first stay at your campground! The lots are very large and facilities were so clean. Really enjoyed how private they were. The staff was so friendly and accommodating, so much more than we expected! It is a great getaway spot and cannot wait to visit again! Also highly recommend trying their pizza for one of your meals! Not greasy and reasonably priced. Bonus having it delivered which we did not expect ❤️
