High Falls State Park easily earned its 5-star rating during our recent autumn visit—it truly did not disappoint. This park is a fantastic destination, offering great scenery, spacious camping, and surprising opportunities for fun. The natural landscape here is stunning, anchored by a superb network of hiking paths. The trails are excellent, following the rushing river and climbing the surrounding hills, which makes for both peaceful nature walks and satisfying exercise. The absolute highlight of our stop was the unexpected fun provided by the park. During our visit, they hosted a fall scavenger hunt. While it seemed designed for younger visitors, we jumped in anyway and had an absolute blast! It was a brilliant, interactive way to explore the park and was the most memorable part of our entire trip. The campground itself is nice and wonderfully spacious. We noted that it is separated from the main park attractions, located just across the street. While the split is a little strange at first, it's very easy to navigate and ensures the camping area remains peaceful. High Falls is a must-visit for anyone looking for beautiful trails, clean facilities, and maybe even a fun little adventure!

We loved it. We took our 4 kids, ages 6-11, and they had no trouble keeping up on the trails. The views of the falls were beautiful! The office staff were friendly and helpful, and the office restrooms were clean and well cared for. Great place for a picnic, hike, or just to sit and enjoy the sound of the falls.

I've been coming here camping since I was a child. So 40 years of this amazing place. It's beautiful, serene and the most perfect place to camp with family or friends!

High Falls State Park is truly stunning! The natural beauty here is breathtaking—from the rushing falls to the peaceful walking trails, it’s the perfect place to relax, explore, and take in the scenery. We didn’t camp or rent any equipment, so I can’t speak to those amenities, but just visiting the park itself was well worth the trip. One tip for visitors: the “souvenir” store across the street is actually two small buildings that mostly sell vape products, cigarettes, alcohol, and have gambling machines. It smells strongly of cigarettes and really isn’t a souvenir shop, so I’d recommend skipping it and enjoying the park instead. Overall, the park itself is beautiful, clean, and absolutely worth a visit!

First time here and stayed 3 nights at site 18. Hiked the trails and Tranquility & Falls trails are not for the faint of heart! Beautiful foliage and places to stop along the way. Dog friendly. Lots of campers had dogs. Very clean and well maintained with several bathrooms, showers, and laundry facilities. Some of the camp sites are rather close to each other, so if that’s a negative for you, be sure to pay attention to that when booking. Nice playground for kiddos and several open areas for kids to run around. Many brought bikes. Close to several towns for restaurants. Dollar General right outside the campground. Cute little store in the park has some basics. Campground has a gate with a gate code. Only negative— internet is non existent and no sewer hookups at the site.
