It is a beautiful park with a beautiful scenic trail across the road. I do highly recommend going through the playground and course to see beautiful landscapes, wildlife, and nature. The only negative is certain parts of the trail can be rough, with spots needing better maintenance with fallen trees. So some hiking experience is required in the less frequently gone to areas. The beginner-level hikers should be fine.

I enjoy going to high falls. It's beautiful scenery. The trails are definitely a lil more on the moderate side not so easy. But it's a nice breath of fresh air. Feels like you are in a secluded special location

We stayed at the beautiful High Falls State Park in Jackson Georgia to do some hiking and lay over for the night. Pulling a rig our size through what I assume is the original tight and curvy section to get to the section for larger units is NOT for the faint of heart!  But, it is doable if you take your time and are very, very careful. Our site was easy to get into and long enough that we didn't have to disconnect since we were only here for the night. It included a little fenced area, with a fire pit and a picnic table.   There is only electric and water at the site but if you need to dump they have a well laid out station. The park is large and beautiful with a number of hiking trails.  We did a four mile hike along a gorgeous falls and river.  There is nothing level here so this isn't the easiest walk, but it's well worth it. We enjoyed the park and will probably come back some time to do more hiking and sightseeing.

Great place for the family, nice and peaceful. I believe the parking was only five dollars and the pass works for both parks in the area ( ten minutes apart ) so if youre ever down or around Jackson G.A give this place a chance and enjoy life.... if you have the time. The only down side is the play areas for kids that I seen weren't handicap accessible, and there was no shade so the equipment was blistering hot at 9 a.m

As the weather was nice for once in Georgia, we opted for a hike in High Falls State Park. Remember to bring your annual parks pass if you have it. Otherwise, it's $5 entry fee. As others noted, the entrance to the trail is past the dam, on the other side of the street. Trails are well marked and managed. Be aware of snakes - we saw a couple of small ones during our hike. Easy to moderate trails; you can definitely take your fur babies here. As the water levels were low, there were pools infested with mosquitoes. Spray yourself well with bug repellent. Visitors to this trail littered by the river. Leave no trace - clean after yourself, people.
