Going Somewhere Together
Camp grounds are ok wifi is top notch but Laundry room always has problems. Change machine never works and soap machine is always empty. AMERICAN CRYSTAL pays good money to have people stay there during harvest and yet they can't get the washing machines fixed. We come every year and it's always the same.

We came here for the beet harvest. The pros; It's a beautiful campground with mature trees and grass. Gorgeous in the fall. The bathrooms are very nice and updated. Most the sites are very spacious. It's close to food, gas stations and town. The cons, yes it's next the noisy highway and I think the truckers enjoy using their engine brakes as they go by the campground...but it became like whitenoise to me. The laundromat isn't always working, but it was last time we were there. I think it's pricey for a basic campground, but it's the only one in the area, so you don't have a lot of choices. Also, they need more picnic tables and fire-rings. Not every site has them. Overall...I love it there but wouldn't stay there long if we had to pay for it out of pocket. Great place for a night or two though.

We had a pleasant stay at the Hillsboro Campground while my wife worked the sugar beet harvest. It is close to the interstate, but the traffic did not bother me. It was, however, very easy to get to the campground from the interstate. To see our adventures, subscribe to SIMPLE LIFE BIG ADVENTURES on YouTube.

My husband and I lived here for over a year in our camper. Sandy (the mother in law) did an amazing job keeping everything going. If there was an issue we knew we could go to her. The owner Sara on the other hand was worthless. She wants the money but not to do the work. To treat her mother in law as free labour (yes you read that right she didn’t pay her for keeping up with the property). The sites themselves are minimal and shoddy. Very poorly designed and put together. If you want to stay in a campground that’s more accessible go further north to the one outside of grand forks. Then at least you will be closer to laundry services. In regards to our arrangement with Sandy that was between us. I offered to pay her and she refused. We shared meals with her and drinks and other things. We did keep our site clean. In the year and a half we were there it was towards the end of our visit you finally got the laundry fixed. As for the gravel, if you used the proper class the newer section would not be so uneven and campers wouldn’t sink in the mud. I will say you were nice to work with in the beginning and then I think greed over took you. Both my husband and I have run businesses, we understand you have to make a living as well, you just don’t need to be greedy. All I can say is I am glad we are out of there and I know friends that have stayed there have had the same sentiments we have.

Campground is very well kept. Everyday they are tending the grounds to keep it clean. Campground showers are honestly cleanest I’ve ever seen for a campground. Everything is very well kept around the campground. Quiet time is enforced. People do watch their speed. Sara is amazing to work with very easy to get ahold of. Laundry mat is kept clean everything would be working if everyone was more considerate of how they treat the machines.
