Hinton / Jasper KOA Holiday

Watch the sun sink behind the awesome Canadian Rockies at this KOA's quiet, peaceful setting.

Watch the sun sink behind the awesome Canadian Rockies at this KOA's quiet, peaceful setting. Three creeks border the beautiful clean-air campground in an open, treeless meadow at the foot of the mountains. It's a perfect base for trips to area parks.
The entrance to Jasper National Park is 15 minutes away. Marvel at Jasper's rugged peaks, blue glaciers and wildflower meadows. Wildlife is abundant, including bighorn sheep.
Walk the new glass-floored Glacier Skywalk over the Athabasca River Valley. Ride the aerial tramway 3,281 feet to the summit of Whistlers Mountain for views of six mountain ranges, teal-green glacial lakes and rivers. Take to hundreds of miles of trails on foot or drive the spectacular Icefields Parkway that winds south along the Continental Divide to Banff National Park. Or head north: KOA is 1 km west of Highway 40, the scenic route to Alaska.
This KOA was voted one of the "Top 50 Scenic Views" by ReserveAmerica.
In lieu of individual firepits, we offer one central firepit pavilion where you can enjoy the fire while you meet and share your experiences with campers from around the world.

These cabins were wonderful. We loved the porch swing, fridge and heater too. The community kitchen had sinks and even hot plates too. The staff was friendly, helpful and professional. There was even views of the rocky mountains. A very affordable alternative to the expensive accomodations in Jasper, yet a short 45 min drive to Jasper. Showers and wood for the community bonfire were free, they even included the marshmallow sticks. There were two areas for dogs, a fenced off with agility equipment and the other was partially fenced larger area where your dog could run. I will definitely stay here again.

You get a clean and level spot with a full hookup. So far the good part. RV spaces are insanely small. You're standing in the shade of your neighbor's rig and will have a hard time walking from your table to your door without tripping over the next guy's poop hose. Our family booked a four person deluxe cabin in addition to the RV site. There's not much luxe about it. You'll find it barely holds two medium-sized adults and two children, not "four people". Location wise, it's a bit too far from Jasper to easily hop into the park and Hinton has to be the most boring town north of the equator.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights on our trip through Alberta & BC. We were a bit skeptical about staying in ‘a field’ but the views of the foothills and Rocky Mountains were worth it. It ended up being a quiet campsite in the back with a view that was priceless. We had no issues. The washrooms were clean, showers on site had good pressure and were clean, there were garbage cans scattered throughout and the check in process was seamless and the staff were very kind and polite.

Park is well maintained and you can tell there is love put into it to help people enjoy the beautiful nature of Alberta. Staff was friendly, sites are clean, bear proof trash bins and recycling throughout the rows of campsites, bathrooms/showers clean, locked gate overnight, beautiful views, nice dog agility park and off lease exercise area. ~1hr from Jasper but best full hookup option. Convenient to Hinton restaurants, grocery, fuel options. Cabins and cottages look cute and would be nice if not traveling in camper. Recommended stay if enjoying Jasper National Park.

This campground is wonderful. The grounds are very well maintained. The spots are spacious for an RV park. They have playgrounds and a pet park for the little (of big) ones travelling with you. The bathrooms are very clean and well maintained. If there's an issue, they are quick to respond. The showers are hot and water pressure is phenomenal. Then there's the scenery! Being nestled in the Rockies, there's no shortage of views here. It's also windy here. We apparently had mild wind, but we're told it gets much worse. They even don't recommend putting awnings out, it's so bad. This is the only complaint, if you can even call it that, that we had on our one night stay.
