Hipico Santa Fe
Overview
Hipico Santa Fe is a premier equestrian venue that doubles as a scenic destination for RVers seeking a unique stay in the high desert of New Mexico. Situated on hundreds of acres, this facility offers a professional yet relaxed atmosphere with sweeping views of the surrounding mountain ranges. It is not a traditional wooded campground, but rather an expansive, open-air park designed for convenience and accessibility for travelers exploring the Land of Enchantment during event seasons and beyond.
Location & Surroundings
Located just a short drive south of downtown Santa Fe, the park provides a peaceful escape from the city center while remaining conveniently close to historic landmarks. The landscape is defined by vast horizons, native pinon trees, and the dramatic backdrop of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Its proximity to the Santa Fe Regional Airport and major transit routes makes it an easy stop for those navigating large rigs through the high-altitude terrain of Northern New Mexico.
Amenities & Park Features
The RV accommodations focus on practicality and space, providing full hookup sites equipped with 30 and 50-amp electrical service. Travelers will appreciate the wide, level gravel pads that are specifically designed to handle big-rig access with ease. The facility maintains high standards for its grounds, offering guests access to essential utilities in a clean and secure environment. Because it is a world-class horse show facility, the area is exceptionally well-maintained with plenty of room to walk pets and enjoy the fresh desert air.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Guests are perfectly positioned to explore the cultural riches of the region, including the world-famous Santa Fe Plaza and the renowned Canyon Road art galleries. For outdoor enthusiasts, the nearby Cerrillos Hills State Park offers miles of hiking and biking trails through historic mining landscapes. Those seeking a unique experience can visit Meow Wolf, an immersive art installation located just minutes away, or take a short drive to the Turquoise Trail for a scenic tour of local artisan towns.
Who This Park Is Best For
This park is an ideal choice for equestrian enthusiasts who want to be in the heart of the action during show seasons, as well as travelers seeking a quiet and secure home base while exploring Santa Fe. If you prefer wide-open spaces and spectacular mountain sunrises over crowded, shaded forest sites, you will find this park to be a refreshing change of pace. It is particularly well-suited for motorhome owners who prioritize maneuverability and reliable modern hookups over rustic camping amenities.

We had a great time at HIPICO RVPark, 4 days, Santa Fe, Albuquerque Balloon Festival, Several Great Day Drives from this location, Back roads from the RV Park were awesome! Plenty of room, plenty of parking. I might add, the BEST WIFI of any park we stayed at! No Buffering! Watch your little Dogs, Coyotes very close in the hills! Host Phyllis was wonderful, just a very positive stay! We’ll be back that way next year!

This place is a bargain in Santa Fe but may not be for everyone. If you want all the perks of a fancy RV park, this isn’t for you. However, if you spend most of your time exploring, have no need for extras, this is a good place. Full hook ups, quiet, 30 minutes from downtown, and pretty views of the mountains. It is on a horse farm, tucked away from city noise. I caution walking your dog anywhere but on dirt. Lots of stickers in anything green. It suited our needs and we spent a week. Food downtown is expensive. Try Harry’s Rosdhouse about 18 minutes away. Good portions, great taste and prices. Another bargain was the Loretto tours $25 cash, Hour and 15 minutes on a tram/bus, very informative. This campground Its no frills but clean and price can’t be beat in the area. There are no showers/toilets.

A very pleasant, clean, and quiet park. Easy reservations and check-in. Best price in town, a very secure and safe area. The office was always very helpful. Strong water pressure, steady electric power, and full hookup included. The trash can right behind camper and all hookups were so convenient. We were allowed to receive Amazon packages there was without any problem, a very helpful asset when camping. Neighbors were all quiet. Wi-fi was very poor quality, but the office noted Star-link was coming any day. It just didn't happen the days we were there. But, we were on the run enough that it wasn't a huge problem. We enjoyed the few horses we saw during our 5 day stay. The dog pen across from us was not a problem. We only heard a dog bark twice the whole time we were there. Easy access to the city, other than 10 mph for about 10 minutes each way on the gravel road into and out of the park, due to horses having the right of way. Most parks have low speeds, but the 50amp RVs are at the far south corner of the extra sized equestrian grounds, with only one way in and out to that. So, plan accordingly.

All Gravel lots but the pads are level. Water, sewer and electric. Restrooms are clean and shower pressure is good. Nice place to hang out when you're not in downtown Santa Fe. This isn't for people who need to be catered too. Just a really good camping spot at a very good price.

Easily one of the cleanest campgrounds around. Everything is in perfect working order. Gotta be somebody prior service in charge. Great price too! All utilities, even a trashcan located at the rear of the campsite. Be prepared if you need to reach that point with your hook-ups.
