Hixton / Alma Center KOA Holiday
A BEAUTIFUL CAMPGROUND LOCATED ON THE HISTORIC SILVERMOUND
Located between Eau Claire and Madison, WI, 3 1/2 miles off I-94 on State Hwy 95, the campground is conveniently located and allows easy access to activities in the surrounding area. We have Camping Cabins, both one and two room, one camping lodge with a bathroom that sleeps 4 and a lodge with bathroom and separate bedroom that sleeps 6. When you stay at the Hixton/Alma Center Wisconsin KOA campground you can enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning as you take a peaceful stroll through the campground's meadows and woodlands. Songbirds provide a cheerful serenade as you keep your eyes open for deer, opossums and raccoons. Accented with multiple flower variations, the campground includes an ancient Native American site called Silver Mound. The well-stocked fishing pond, heated swimming pool, giant jumping pillow and bike rentals are hits with kids of all ages. Wagon rides and ice cream socials are summer Saturday treats, plus a pancake breakfast on Sunday mornings (Memorial Day thru Labor Day). The pavilion is the perfect location to hold your anniversary parties, family reunions, rallies or meetings.
Staying here at the campground puts you close to many outdoor activities, including boating, fishing, canoeing and kayaking at Lake Arbutus and the Black River. The Trempeleau River offers great trout fishing and is just a mile away. Wazee Lake is the former site of an iron mine and is the deepest lake in Wisconsin, so it is perfect for scuba diving. Hiking, biking and ATV trails, Ho-Chunk Nation powwows, museums, antique stores and flea markets are also popular activities in the area. Campground offers FREE Wi-Fi, cable, sewer sites and friendly service. Your hosts, John and Debbie, will make sure your camping needs are taken care of. The campground store is convenient for those forgotten or needed items. RV, tent or cabin campers, this campground offers you the wonderful camping experience families use to build memories. Kids of all ages are having a great time on the new jumping pillow and we DO NOT CHARGE EXTRA for the jumping pillow!

*PRETTIEST KOA we have ever stayed at. And we’ve stayed at a lot. *IMMACULATELY KEPT. We didn’t use many facilities but they looked great. The grounds crew deserves an award. *DARK SKY FRIENDLY. This may not be a plus for some, but it is for us. We really appreciate the absence of light-pollution from street and utility lights. So incredibly refreshing to see the stars easily (as long as your neighbors cooperate!)

Came up for a family weekend with the camper while the rest of the crew stayed in a cabin. The entire KOA team here was incredible the entire weekend. From activities for the kids from crafts to hayrides and ice cream socials. All the kids in our group had a blast and the KOA crew made it relaxing and easy for the adults. Will definitely be coming back if we find ourselves in the area. You can easily tell this KOA crew cares. Even the little details in the amazingly clean bathroom like soap catchers. I mean they have thought of it all!

We had a wonderful time at the Hixton/Alma Center KOA this past weekend. Debbie, John (the owners) and their AMAZING staff have clearly worked hard to make this KOA a special place to visit. From check-in with Jean on Wed. to check-out with Jean on Sunday, every member of the team worked hard to make us feel like we were welcome AND part of the family. John keeps the pool in perfect shape. Tami and Lee did a fantastic job with crafts the grandchildren enjoyed. The ice cream social was scrumptious and the pancake breakfast on Sunday was delicious. Debbie makes the BEST pancakes! The grounds were very well maintained as well as the roads throughout the park and the showers were very clean too. We will absolutely be back to enjoy this KOA. Thanks for a great stay!

Love this campground. It seems secluded even though you're very near major highways because of the thick barrier of forest surrounding it. Kids would love it for all the fun activities (pool, jumping pillow, etc), we were so happy so see the fenced dog park. Our spot was level and had a huge mature tree for bonus shade. You constantly see people working maintaining the grounds, and everyone seemed friendly. Great place.

We are a family of four, traveling to Montana and back to NY. We stopped here on our long trek back home for a night with our fifth wheel camper. We've been staying at KOAs along our entire trip. This one in particular was the most beautiful, clean, meticulously manicured, and kept up. We were greeted with such kindness upon our arrival and are so happy to have stayed there for our first time in Wisconsin. I would highly recommend this KOA for anyone looking to stop in this area!
