Hocking River RV Park

This was our first time visiting, and family vacation in 5 years. Our location was so close to a main road you had to literally yell while sitting and talking outside. There was constant traffic and construction noise all day and night. Our lot was also next to the entrance/exit as well so that was a constant noise throughout our stay. There was also a couple that are regulars apparently who come each year that were scream fighting.... so that was interesting. Not a peaceful lot (#2) at all. The lots were crammed so close together there was absolutely no privacy. We had finally made peace with what it was, and then received a call asking us to move our truck from the lot #1 which was 10 feet from us (where Noone was renting out that weekend mind you) and then told they could send us a picture of it sitting there right now?....as we are sitting outside as a family.....being watched?... With that being said, if you are looking to have a place to just park your RV, and venture out your time in Logan, Hocking Hills it seems like a safe spot, just not a relaxing camping trip. We'll do our research better next time.

We really love this campground. A River view while enjoying a fire. Quiet at night. Clean shower house. We stay here every time we visit hocking hills. We missed seeing the man that took care of the grounds last time we visited. He really kept it clean and was so helpful. We were hoping to see him again. This time when we arrived around 5 our fire pit had enough trash in it to fill a grocery bag. Also some tent campers left about a truck load of garbage. And it sat there for days! I did not appreciate that on my walks. When we left it was still there. The shower house was clean and had a 1st aid kit in it. I thought that was thoughtful. You do need to walk up hill to get there. But there are a few parking spaces so you can drive up it too. The sites only have electric but you are able to fill up with water and dump at the campground too. I would recommend hocking river its a no bells and whistles place but that is what I love. Kids swimming and swinging on the rope into the water, biking and fishing were all nice to see. Not one with a phone! Just a little campground that will always be our go to!

Pet friendly! First time staying here and would return. Small and clean but has what you need and is maintained. Right on the river also. Shower house was secure by coded doors and also clean. I can see myself returning for another adventure. Great spot if you are kayaking down the hocking river and kayak livery close by.

My family has returned to Hocking River RV Park for four years now. We love that although it is a quiet RV park, they have tent spaces that are big enough for our 20 person tent. Most of the sites have power, and there is a nice shower house with flush toilets, and clean showers. Site management is a phone call or email away and very responsive to anything that comes up. (Although we have never actually had an issue on site). Another thing we love Is that We always feel very safe there and most of the other groups in their RVs are very respectful of the sites rules. I highly recommend this for anyone who likes to camp, But also likes to have modern plumbing and electricity. There’s lots of green trees and a beautiful view of the River right there along the site. We look forward to returning to Hocking River RV Park for many years to come!

Been coming here for a couple of years with family. Always been peaceful and quiet. Still is, but the upkeep has deteriorated. Grass is high, restrooms/showers are a mess and not kept up with. Usually see cleaning personnel and maintenance a couple of times during our stays. This year we haven’t anyone in 4 days.

We have been camping here every year in September for over 7 years. The campgrounds is always clean and the shower room is excellent and well maintained. Used to be we have almost the whole place to ourselves, but word got out that this has to be one of the best places to camp in the area! It is usually busy on the weekends, but people clear out on Sunday. Everyone always seems to be friendly and the view of the river is awesome. I wish the original tent sites wouldn't have went up in price...but I understand Supply and Demand. It is our home away from home usually 2 times a year and I book early to secure our spot!

We loved it here. It was beautiful and quiet. Showers were clean. It is a bit far from all the hiking but the drive was beautiful. There is no staff around and we did have a little issue with our site but one call. It was handled. We would definitely stay again

The campground was alright. There's no staff on hand so it's all based on good behavior and in hopes you'll go & stay for the time you're supposed to. We stayed for a week & didn't see an employee once while there. Campsites 16 & less have great shade and sites 23 & up have great shade. Bathroom are a bit of a walk to get to from any site & were not the cleanest. The fire rings are across the road from each site right next to the river. Super nice! BUT in the week we stayed we didn't see a SINGLE mosquito! Not a single bug bite on anyone.

We stayed 5 nights here in June. It is a quiet little camping area right along the hocking river. We had space #1, which is the largest spot. The rest of the spots are on the smaller side. Most of the spaces are pull-through but 1, 2, and 3 might be a bit trickier to pull out of if your neighbors to your left pull up too far and you have a large camper (because there is a hill in front of those spots). We have a 33 foot fifth wheel and had to back out of our site, which was fine because we have no issues with backing but this is something to be aware of if you are uncomfortable backing your camper. The higher number spots are at the back of the campground and will have less traffic driving by them. It is nice to sit by the river and watch the kayaks and canoes float by. We put our own kayaks in down the river and paddled back to the campground. It was a bit tricky getting them out because the riverbank is high and there isn’t a great access point but we made it work and kayaked the river three times. You can rent kayaks just down the road if you don’t have your own. The bathhouse was very clean, groceries are just down the street, the winery is very close and the state park is about a 15-20 minute drive for hiking and exploring. I would definitely go back.
