Nice trails. They are remodeling the visitors center now so it’s closed by you can walk around the construction to get to the trail heads. The new visitor center is going to be great. Minnesota does a great job of improving the parks For us all to enjoy.

State parks are supposed to make you feel relaxed and inviting but it doesn't feel like that here, the park attendant came up to our rig (truck & travel trailer) first thing telling us that they don't have trailers like this in here, so... please if your going to be up there park so you can pull out cause it gets packed up there... so, we pull in and find a big motorhome up in the top parking lot and their not packed facing out... why are you discriminating our rig? Not friendly at all here, came to grill out and enjoy our afternoon as a family! Everyone is speeding and it looks like all they hire is children

Nice state park. Clean restrooms. The beach is a hike from the camping grounds. Beautiful trails for biking and hiking. Beautiful beach. Not a 5 star only because its not super close to the beach, quite a hike to it and no full hook ups, only electric.

Probably the prettiest beach we've seen. The sand is beautiful the water is clean and the beach is real long so it's possible to escape the people when it's 95 degrees weather and everyone is at the beaches. There's lots of parking too.

Tall trees make for shaded sites, most sites seem to be a close enough walk to the trail to the beach. Pretty large state park overall but didn't feel overcrowded with most sites filled. Will be back someday from MN!

Took a day trip out to the west side of the state with my dog. We enjoyed the Walk-a-Mile trail and the extensive beach area. We timed getting lose in the woods with the beautiful sunset over Lake Michigan. It was truly breathtaking and that alone will have me remiscing and eager to return. There was some construction leading on the direct bath to beach access. There were temporary walkways and they were easy enough to navigate.

This is our favorite park to hike to. Unfortunately these recent years the spot we like to go to by the water at the end of our hike is filled with boaters.

Dress for the wind and "sea"spray. Lake shores are colder than the inland Add a west wind and the big lake's shores are much colder. The views and hiking are as fantastic as ever. There is a harsh and rugged beauty in March worth the extra effort to dress in warm layers.

Very nice State Park on the shores of lake Michigan. Great hiking trails. Fun nature center to explore. Stayed there multiple times over the years and will definitely be going back again.

We visited for the first time last week. Site number 69. It was very handy to the restrooms. The absolute cleanest restrooms and showers ever. The park itself is very well maintained and is just beautiful! Dog friendly we enjoyed the activity field to take our dogs to play frisbee we brought from home, they loved it. The camp hosts were super nice and had activities and arts abd craft planned. There are very thoughtful borrow stand if you need a broom or rake you can borrow and take back when done.. Local firewood is sold be individuals on the road leading to the campground for less money although you can buy firewood at the entrance in the campground. It was a very peaceful and quiet campground while we were there. The beach is stunning, easy to get down to but coming back up was diffcult. No stairs to the beach. Dogs allowed on beach except where it's marked no dogs which is in the swimming part of the beach. Would highly recommend the digital reservation and check in system, it was user friendly and easy to do. The staff was helpful and very friendly!! We can't recommend this place enough!!
