I stayed at Riverbend Retreat Campground for a few nights this fall and absolutely fell in love with it! The large, wooded sites and peaceful riverfront views made it the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy nature. It feels like old-school Maine camping — quiet, spacious, and surrounded by beautiful trees — yet it’s still close to Portland, beaches, and local restaurants. Everyone I met was so friendly, and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. I enjoyed it so much that I’ve already applied for a seasonal site for next year! Can’t wait to spend my summers at this hidden gem on the river.

Although our stay was short, we absolutely loved staying at Riverbend Retreat. A young man (I didn't catch his name unfortunately) helped us check and he explained the house rules in great detail. He was very polite and provided a good overview of everything. The owners, Bryce and Amanda, came to our campsite to introduce themselves and asked for feedback about the campgrounds. They were warm, friendly, and accommodating. The site was reasonably priced and very clean. We also met Erin, the resident goat girl, who cares for the goats on the property. An added bonus was that you can pay (only 25¢) to feed the goats and interact with them. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back if we find ourselves venturing through that area again. Thank you Amanda, Bryce, Erin, and the young man who checked us in!

Spent a lovely evening at Riverbend retreat. Was guided to our campsite and provided with a very nice space, I only wish I would have been able to find where the water spigot was. River was lovely to swim in and the atmosphere of the campgrounds was quite relaxing. Bathrooms were fairly clean and there were a lot of activities on the grounds to keep people busy. Overall would recommend!

I stayed at the silver stream Airbnb for the weekend. The camper was beautifully kept and had plenty of space for myself, my husband, and our pup. The park is well maintained and quiet so you can enjoy the peace and quiet the woods have to offer. The staff is friendly and helpful and there are cute goats you can interact with. There is a little beach so you can cool off in the river on a hot day. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxing camping experience.

Great place to camp. It's right next to a beautiful river. Camp hosts nice and friendly. Rates are not too bad. Showers and rest rooms clean. Great area for the kids to play. We'll be back.

My name is Carl Whitney I am from St Petersburg Florida I came into town for a funeral could not get a motel at 10:30 a.m. planet fitness wouldn't let me use the shower even though I'm a 10 year member wanted to charge me $5 I canceled that membership I called homestead campground told him my situation and the very nice woman that I talk to told me get a couple quarters and come over and use their shower shower five star people all the way thank you very much homestead campgrounds finest people I met on my trip

Thank you Ruth for an absolutely wonderful weekend getting away with the family! From the moment we pulled until the moment we left, we were welcomed at every turn. Even dodging the rain, it was well worth it. If you are looking for a campground you can truly relax and unplug at, have your kids (or adults!) get to know the farm animals and unwind, this is it. The campers here are also incredibly friendly. Looking forward to our next visit and enjoying the river!
