Amazing campground. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid and it never disappoints. We had a blast this weekend. If you come, bring bikes!

The campground is in desperate need of some TLC but we still had a great time. I have read through so many reviews and looked at so many pics & not 1 single picture or mention of the creek even from people who claim they use to come here as kids. Does no one know the creeks existed except me and my family. I preferred the creek over the lake even when I was a child in the 80s. Anyhow it’s a bit of a climb down and then back up but man it’s worth it. I brought my kids and husband yesterday & they had a great time. We do know next time we definitely need a rope ladder or something so the climb down and back up from the creek.

Scenic area and campgrounds. Peaceful and quiet. Westbound on 84, GMap gives you a four mile dirt road. Pass it by and proceed W on 84 to the Clear Springs Rd and sign. Turn S onto paved road. Easy. Campsites on upper loop seem easier to back a trailer or small RV into; more level. Our second time there and will stay again in future.

Clean spacious well developed park. Nice trail that loops around the lake. Dog friendly! Flushable bathrooms.

Beautiful campground in the Homochitto National Forest. No road noise. Great trails. Thank you campground host Virginia for everything you have done to make this a great place to get away for a few days. It won’t be the same without you.

Clear springs was a big part of my childhood with so many good memories here. Things have changed a lot since those days but going there after so many years was still like seeing an old friend. The nostalgia and positive energy are still there. It is still a beautiful place and very peaceful. I will be spending a bit more time visiting this dear old family friend.

Just outside the town of Roxie, MS nestled in the Homochitto National Forest lies the Clear Springs Campground. You are greeted with an honor box, so bring cash. Past the entrance the road splits. To the right are the overlook campsites, to the left are the lake side campsites. We decided on the lake side and chose #11. Now, #11 is not your typical campsite. Nope, #11 has a TWO STORY WALK-UP! That's right. you park your RV / SUV at the bottom were the connections are and walk up a long flight of stairs to the camping area. Most of you are thinking to yourselves that that sounds horrible. Every time you want to hang out by the fire or go back to the RV you have to go up and down the stairs. To us though, IT WAS AWESOME! It's Private, It's Quiet, It's Secluded. You can see the entire lower campground including the picnic area by the lake and most of the day use pavilion area. This offers a little more sense of security for myself and provides a nice view. Also, having less foot traffic beside our campsite made it much easier having the dogs with us. There is a trail head just off this campsite that leads to the lake trail. There is also an adjoining campsite, but far enough away that there is no disturbance between neighbors. Park maintenance is SUPERB! Bathhouse was Very clean. Grounds were Very Well maintained. Staff was Awesome and extremely friendly.
