Beautiful view and the camp host was the best we have ever had camping!

Seems like a great place to live in the horsetooth reservoir area. Nice little store there and the lady at the counter was very pleasant and also helpful as she gave us contact information for the RV park which is run separately from the Inn. 5 stars for the helpful lady...as we only visited and asked questions I can't speak with any authority on the entities themselves.

Stayed here for two nights in our camper. I was instantly disappointed when I realized I had been duped by misleading reviews and the marketing wizards who made this place look like a nice place to camp. First I will start with the pros to give a fair and adequate review. Pros: -Friendly staff -Discount on firewood for staying there -Convenient access to supplies at camp store -Proximity to Horsetooth Reservoir, Fort Collins, and Rocky Mountain National Park -Quiet campground -Cabins looked nice to stay in Cons: -Expensive for the lack of quality our site offered -Crowded spaces, most of your area will be your neighbor’s septic hose -Lackluster views, the RV sites are behind the convenience store on gravel, not facing the reservoir -Campground seems mostly composed of seasonal or residential campers and miscellaneous debris -Every metal fire pit I saw had junk and trash in it, including ours on arrival -Cats roam the grounds at night which isn’t ideal for walking our dogs around -The only grass was by the store to walk your dogs on -Place seemed kind of sad and depressing for a fun family or couple getaway unless you were staying in the cabins -People pulling up to occupy the site near us instantly echoed our looks of regret and disappointment when they saw how small the sites were and that our septic hose met the bottom of their camper stairs Please do not confuse Horsetooth Inn and RV Park for the County run campsites for Horsetooth Reservoir. Not the worst two nights of camping but by far was a frustrating experience to see what we got for what we paid and to feel fooled by the website’s photos and other campers’ reviews.
