Hudson Bay Regional Park

Overview

Hudson Bay Regional Park is a premier outdoor destination located where the Etomami, Fir, and Red Deer rivers converge in northeastern Saskatchewan. Known for its lush landscapes and proximity to rugged wilderness, this park offers a peaceful retreat for those looking to immerse themselves in the province's natural beauty. It serves as a multi-season recreational hub, providing a quiet base for campers who appreciate deep forests, clear river waters, and the sound of rustling poplar trees. Whether you are passing through or staying for a week, the park's natural charm and well-maintained facilities provide a welcoming environment for all travelers.

Location & Surroundings

Situated just south of the town of Hudson Bay, the park is nestled within a unique ecological zone where the boreal forest meets the edge of the prairies. This region is famous for its wildlife and dramatic geography, defined by the Pasquia and Porcupine Hills which create a stunning backdrop for exploration. The park's position at the junction of three major rivers makes it a standout location for water-based activities and wildlife viewing, offering a sense of seclusion while remaining conveniently close to local town services and amenities.

Amenities & Park Features

The park provides a range of camping options, including sites equipped with 30-amp electrical hookups suitable for various RV sizes. On-site facilities are designed to support a comfortable stay and include:

  • Modern washrooms and coin-operated showers
  • A 9-hole golf course with well-maintained grass greens
  • Playgrounds and picnic kitchen shelters
  • Potable water access and a sani-dump station

These features ensure that while you are surrounded by nature, your basic needs are well met. The on-site golf course is particularly popular, allowing travelers to enjoy a round of golf just steps from their campsite.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Outdoor enthusiasts will find endless activities, from fishing in the fertile river waters to exploring the extensive trail system that is popular for hiking and bird watching. Just a short drive away, Ruby Lake offers a sandy beach and excellent swimming opportunities for families. During the winter months, the park transforms into a hub for snowmobiling and cross-country skiing, connecting to some of the most scenic groomed trails in Saskatchewan. The area is also a well-known destination for photography due to its diverse flora and fauna.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is an ideal match for nature lovers and anglers who want direct access to river fishing and forested trails. It is also a fantastic choice for RVers who enjoy golfing and want a quiet, scenic environment rather than a busy resort atmosphere. Really beautiful and quiet campground with a lot of wildlife. Lovely area for walking and pics plus there was free firewood and mini golf ⛳ only downside is when we visited in June there was a TON of mosquitoes 😅

Beautiful park with camping, playground and lots of nature* to enjoy. Staff is super friendly and the park is very well maintained. *Nature includes horse flies. So many, in fact, you'll need to anchor yourself to the picnic table so they don't carry you away. Bring deet.
