This is by far the best camp ground for a family I have ever been to. Cameron (owner) goes above and beyond for his guests—for example; we did the hayride to go pick out pumpkins and my toddler was so sad there was not a small white pumpkin. She did not through a fit, just was visibly bummed. She got over it, but just didn’t have the excitement she had when we got there. Without being prompted Cameron picked up on it and asked if she saw the small ones in the trailer. She sparked up and we walked over to take a look. When we got to the trailer, it was empty. Cameron apologized and we thanked him for trying. Later that evening, unprompted, Cameron came by our camp site with not one, but two small white pumpkins and my daughter lite up. I could not believe it. He went to the store and picked out two small pumpkins and then hand delivered them, just to see the smile on her face. In business I know not every problem is a solvable one, but It is clear to me that if something can be solved, these guys will do whatever it takes. Besides the outstanding customer service, this campground is clean, well maintained and has all of the facilities needed for campers (bathrooms, showers, laundry, convenience shop, etc). If there was anything I would suggest for improvement, it would only to offer hot coffee in the main office shop. But that might just be me. 😂

The one night we stayed there (mid May) was really good. The pool wasn't open yet but the playgrounds and bounce pad were a hit with the kids. The tent spaces have electricity and water at each site with a fire pit and picnic table. We had to leave after one night because there were tornados coming and we were tent camping. 😅 Thankfully they were nice and gave us a refund when they didn't have to. Because we had paid for over a week but it's good we left as a tornado hit down just miles from the campground.

We had a great stay at Hungry Horse. My kids had an absolute blast and made many new friends. The facility was in good shape, the camp store was modest but well equipped and fairly priced. Roads are a mixture of paved and gravel. Water and Electric worked fine. 2 RV dump stations at the exit. Campsites were relatively flat, although there is a small hill separating the north and south halves, right at the camp store/office. The northern section sites were mostly grassy but sand/dirt in the high foot traffic (camper awning) area so you may want an outdoor rug. Picnic table and metal fire ring are present at each site. Sites ranged from full sun, part shade, and full shade. The southern section was set in more dense tree cover and almost all shaded, gravel roads, dirt sites. Dorr is a very small town, is very close by, and has grocery, hardware, fuel etc to cover any needs while you're there. My only complaint is my travel route takes me past Battle Creek, and it seems no one there knows how to properly enter an interstate highway.

We really enjoy this family campground! We find the rates to be affordable, especially for a park with well cared for pool and they just re-did the showers too. Their prices on ice cream and kids toys in the store seem very reasonable as well. The owners are super sweet and they plan the most fun activities for young children on Saturdays!

We absolutely love this campground! We’ve stayed here twice now, and each visit has been a fantastic experience for our whole family. There’s so much to do—especially for the kids. From the well-maintained shuffleboard court to multiple playgrounds, basketball, sand volleyball, and pickleball courts, there’s never a dull moment. The giant bounce pad is a huge hit and runs all day. The bathrooms and showers are well made and clean. The campsites are spacious, clean, and many offer great shade. The pools are beautiful and refreshing, and the overall atmosphere is welcoming and fun. The staff at the office were incredibly friendly, and we really enjoyed chatting with Cameron and Brenda—they were wonderful! Even the seasonal campers were warm and kind, which really added to the community feel. We truly can’t say enough good things about this place. Already looking forward to coming back next year!

HH is a well maintained campground with plenty of activities for all members of the family. We camp here at least once every year. The park is always being upgraded with new amenities.

We had a great time at our Halloween Weekend! The campground was immaculate and almost every piece of playground equipment was either new or had a fresh coat of paint on it. Fun activities for the kids and the owners were very present throughout the whole weekend and you can tell they take a lot of pride in their work. We had a wooded site that was huge with plenty of shade. Thanks again! :)

Great camping experience with an amazing fireworks display on labor day weekend. Appears to be family ran and all staff and regular seasonal campers were welcoming and friendly. There are a ton of kiddos so if you're looking for a chill quiet zone it doesn't get quiet until about 10. If you do have kids there are soooooo many activities for them to enjoy! 3 playgrounds, pool, game room and a little store with sweet treats!! We will definitely be back!!

This is the absolute best campground we've ever stayed at. It truly is kid friendly. I've never seen a campground like this; you're close to everything but you feel like you're in the back woods and there's playgrounds everywhere. The staff here are fantastic and so helpful. The bathrooms are so clean and up to to date that you forget they are in a campground. We have yet to meet an unfriendly, unhappy, group of campers, everyone around us is enjoying themselves. We are definitely visiting this campground from now on for our mini vacations. Thank you Hungry Horse Family Campground!

We were traveling around the state of Michigan up and down both sides and we came across this campground. So glad we did. The facility was clean and well run site with spacious and easy to get into our trailer to do for the kids, including a massive playground with every option. The pool was heated and beautiful. Met the owner Cameron, who has been working hard to make it a great spot for you to enjoy your stay. I found the cost to be very reasonable. Hope to be back in the future.

Not only are the new owners down-to-Earth, extremely hard-working and considerate, this campground reflects their wonderful energy and a lot of tremendous people who make it an enjoyable place to visit. The pool is absolute perfection, the playground and green space offer countless hours of distraction for the children, there are wonderful special events and activities, and a real family atmosphere. Please believe all the 5star reviews! Anything less must be personal disgruntlement 😉

This is the best campground, we absolutely love it here. The owners and staff are awesome, friendly, and will go out of their way to help everyone. They make sure kids always have a great time. The campground is amazingly clean. The pools are amazing, warm, clean and fun. The campers are friendly and we have made many long term friendships here. I would 110% recommend this campground, we have camped here for the last 3 years and will continue for many more.
