The lake is beautiful and definitely worth a day trip, but the campsites are VERY close and very visible to each other. There are trees, but they're not dense so there is essentially no natural separation between sites. Our next door neighbors decided it was a great idea to start singing and playing guitars at 10:00 p.m., which was a real bummer. I don't know that I'd stay again.

So much prettier than the pictures. The Wildcat campground is a spit in the middle of water, so there are views all the way around. We went in the middle of July and, while there were people around, it still felt like there was a lot of space. The worst part of the experience was the super awful pit toilet. But whatever. It was worth it.

Beautiful camping areas and day use area! Lots of wild life and you have gorgeous views of Mt Ashland and Mt McLaughlin from the lake 😍 And the camp host Eli is extremely knowledgeable and friendly.

Used to be a beautiful full lake, great for fishing. After recent years of drought, not much left. Sad to go back out there to see it so low. Pictures taken in 2022

Lake super low due to drought. Some spots super rocky. Plumbing issues closed down the restrooms/showers closest to our site. Good walk to one that is available to use.

I strongly do not recommend large RV. I have a 30 foot camper and it is 18 Miles of steep narrow switch backs. The sight big enough was bad. The campsite is on other side of the camper and you had to step into the road to walk around to the camp site. It was to steep to get level and unhook to go see anything. We left after first night.

Beautiful snowy open fields and hardly anyone around. Great for beginner snowshoeing and snowmen!! ☃️❄️🧣Cute view of Mt. McLoughlin too 🗻

Just a quick one-night stay, but a clean campground with water, trash, and bathroom facilities that include showers. Toilets could have been cleaner, but it’s camping so I brought my own sanitizer for the seat. Host was on sight right by my camp space. Plenty of dry wood around the camp sight for kindling or a quick-burning Fire. If you’re willing to chop up some logs there’s ample wood for a month’s worth of campfires.

Awesome campground. The group site is a little removed fro the rest, which is great! Nice calm lake with easy access. Keep in mind the altitude and time of year. We got 3” of snow over Memorial Day weekend! That will definitely not deter me from going back again soon!
