This is a really nice campground! Some sites are on a slant, so it helps to research before booking. We stayed at site #58, which was a great choice—it was close enough to the restrooms for convenience (especially helpful since we had a pregnant friend with us) but not so close that it was noisy. The restrooms are flushable and well-kept, though I wouldn’t recommend the sites directly behind them since you’ll hear a lot of flushing. It’s also super convenient that the campground is right in town, so we had quick access to anything we needed. One thing to note is that hammocks aren’t allowed, but overall we really enjoyed our stay.

Super nice camping grounds. Crazy busy on the weekends and practically empty during the week. Walking distance to downtown idyllwild makes us the perfect spot.

The only reason I gave it 3 stars was because the creek that runs through camp was all dried up, and you seemed to be packed in with too many people around. It's a nice camp, but I like to be a little further away and not so close to other campers. Overall, it was okay. They have wifi so that alone can ruin someone's campaign experience or make it better. The park rangers are very friendly. U pay 60 dollars per spot.

Was really hoping that this was going to be a good campground but unfortunately I can't say it is. It more like a city of campers and just to crowded for us. We did go in June so we knew it would be busy but not like this. I won't fault the campground for the people that camp and dont follow the rules but I will fault the for not enforcing their own rules. Quite time 10pm, try people yelling and screaming at 2am. Not hanging things from the trees, try walking and counting all the hammocks hanging from trees. Who ever designed this place must have just placed a number in every spot they could find and called it a camp site. There is no organization and the sites all just melt together. We had people walking right thru our site because that was the way to the road. We also listened to our neighbors talk all night because they were sooo close. The bathrooms were a little old feeling and again just cant keep up with all the people. If you dont mind the super tight spacing and no privacy at all come give it a try. We will continue to go to Idyllwild Campground and listen to some road noise over this all day because we do love Idyllwild.

Tucked away in the mountains, Idyllwild Regional Park is pure magic. The trails weave through towering pines and massive boulders, with quiet pockets of shade that feel like secret hideouts. Campsites are clean, well-spaced, and you actually get some real peace and quiet without feeling packed in like sardines. Morning walks here are insane — crisp air, birds everywhere, and those slow-burn sunrise colors bleeding through the trees. If you want that old-school California mountain town vibe without the chaos, this place hits different.

We camped there. It is a beautiful campground, very rustic with very unlevel sites. Tents are best, although we did camp with our 22-foot trailer. All sites are a bit tricky with an RV. We were by ourselves because it was in February. This is site 63.

This is a beautiful alpine park with picnic tables and bbqs. Surrounded by nature and easy access to nearby trails. Abundant trees and wildlife, we even saw a couple deer early morning. Is big enough to host multiple families.

Camping over memorial weekend can be quite crowded. But the place is nice with flushed toilets and showers. Beautiful campsites with fire rings for that quintessential camping experience. Lots of trails to explore for different levels of difficulty. Lots of dogs but they are well behaved.

Wonderful place for camping. The rangers were nice, camp sites were cozy and clean, nestled in trees, showers were hot and we were allowed to have fires with good vigilance for height and ensuring that they’re put out before you leave with water buckets by all the bathrooms. There is also a hiking trail system of a group of short 1-3 mile hikes that are quant, low traffic and beautiful views of Jacinto and the surrounding area. Can’t wait to camp here again soon. Very dog friendly place (dogs on leash) and most campers are good about keeping dogs, babies, and music/talking low during quiet hours 10pm-6am.
