I don’t give many five star reviews, it would have to be really excellent, so 4 star is very good. Very nice campground with beautiful view of the river. There are electric and non-electric sites, each with a picnic table and fire pit. There are pit toilets scattered throughout and a central bath house with flush toilets and nice clean, warm showers. The mid September weekend we were there it was mostly empty and quiet, but if it was full it would be noisy and there would be no privacy at all, sites are spacious but very close together. We were traveling so didn’t take time to explore the whole park, but it has a boat ramp, playground and nice grassy areas for walking. Overall, a beautiful spot for a stopover, not an extended camping spot unless you are fishing. It is the perfect place for a weekend with the kids, the playground is new and very nice. The river is beautiful!

Shower and bathroom areas were nice. Staff was very helpful. Amazing views of the river. Maybe it was just the weekend we went, but there were so many free roaming dogs and no one picking up after them. Seems more of a party crowd until about midnight. Which I don’t think I would have minded if I didn’t have my toddler, but I was hoping for it to be more peaceful. More than likely will try it again to see if it was a fluke.

If your family loves to camp, fish or just be near water this is a must stop. Absolutely gorgeous scenery and not to far from town if day camping is preferred
