Ron the man who helped me was awesome! Stayed here in the cabins this past weekend for my friends wedding (to be closer to venue) obviously the heavy rain wasn't ideal but we were just going to be sleeping there. So they served there purpose. But..... I had to get there an hour early before my friends arrived because those cabins( I rented 2) were filthy I had to clean them, dead bugs everywhere, rat poop, the toilet was gross with pee stains on them. I shouldn't have had to clean that but I did. Beds were hard as rocks, if you stay there bring extra padding or you won't be sleeping.

I love going to Indian Springs camp grounds in Kountze. I love being out in the woods just looking and walking around at all of Gods creations, and I love my kids putting down their phones and enjoying the out doors. Mr. Ronnie (the owner) is always so sweet and helpful. He is a marine and he takes the money that you pay to stay there with, and he uses it to put on a hunt for worriers that are disabled and their families on one weekend and then on another weekend he has disabled kids out there. One of my favorite things to do is to look at the stars at night, they always seem so much brighter out there. It is not real fancy place, but the land is beautiful and taken care of, the bath house is clean. If you are looking for a place to go to get out of the rat race for a few days you need to check this place out. Love the new pier they built over the lake. It is wheelchair accessible and has areas of low railing for someone in a wheelchair. Mr. Ronnie has a true passion for the disabled Vets and kids who also are handicapped. A place they can come out and connect with nature with their friends and families.

Ron was very hospitable, had a great stay, was very affordable with comfortable waldenesque cabins that overlook the campground's lake and the woods of the big thicket. Used as a camp for day hikes through the Preserve. A/C was a relief after twelve miles in the 100° heat of July.

Spacious RV spots surrounded with nature at an affordable price. Roni is kind and welcoming. He also provides you with lots of useful information on things to do in the area. We are traveling the U.S in our travel trailer and choose this place since it was close to the big thicket, we enjoyed our time and would definitely come again.

Great place. Nice, wooded and quiet. Highly recommend. Camp host was very nice and informative. Clean restrooms and showers. We will be back. We were visiting on memorial weekend and everything was great.

Agreat place to get away in nature. They have cabins @55.00 a day and the best part you get your deposit back when you leave. Quite serene place actually headed there now!! 😁

So close... There is a lot to like about Indian Springs Campground. They have RV spots, tent spots, primitive cabins, etc. The camp host and the owner are both friendly and helpful. However, even though it comes very close, there are a few issues that keep it from being great. It’s not well maintained. I was tent camping in one of the spots with water and electric and nearby were large piles of trash and junk. I assume they would be burned eventually but they could have been kept out of site. The biggest issue though is the bathroom/showers. A prefab building was used and outside it looks pretty good. Sadly, inside is a disaster. It was very poorly finished out and no thought was given to people actually using the facility. There is one handicap shower and toilet and one standard shower and toilet on each side. The floor is plywood and isn’t clean. The walls are cheap plastic paneling very poorly installed. There were no hooks for hanging up anything and no bench or stool to sit on. There was one very old metal chair that wasn’t much use. The mirror was only suitable for anyone under four feet tall. I have never been in a campground that didn’t have at least hooks for clothes and towels in shower enclosures. Also, the bathrooms were neither heated nor air conditioned. It was 36 degrees in the morning when I took my shower. The hot water was great until I had to get out and try to get dry. If you are tent camping, be aware there are a lot of barking dogs all around the area. They bark a lot at night and ear plugs are recommended. I did run into one couple from Illinois that has been there several times but they had a camper van and admitted they waited until it warmed up to shower. So, if you have a self-contained RV or like really primitive camping, it’s OK. If you want a clean, warm or cool place to use the bathroom and shower, this is not it.

Called on short notice and Mr. Ronnie could not have been nicer and more accommodating. A very peaceful setting and beautiful property surrounding the campground. Hiking trails, a lake, and a great bathhouse. Easy place to navigate, laidback atmosphere, and a very reasonable rate.

The owners of this place and accommodating and amazing- people that care about ensuring you have a great experience. The bath house is clean and new. The full hookup spaces are well shaded but close together. The water/elec spaces are much bigger and most have great shade. They have trails everywhere! A lake with small piers/docks for fishing, and canoes. We can’t wait to go back!!!

This is my second time coming here and I love it. If you’re looking for quaint and quiet place to camp with no frills this is it. The owner is super sweet and very accommodating he even let us use some oars for our kayak! There is a little alligator in the pond on the property so just keep your kids and pets away from it. Also keep your dog on a leash cause there’s lot of wild mushrooms around the campgrounds, my dog got really sick after ingesting something and it cost a pretty penny at the vet that’s 25 miles away. Other than that, I’ll be coming back for sure!
