Water is way down, but it was perfect weather. It was the first time I heard coyotes during the night. Not sure how far away they were, but close enough to hear. The park looks great, the new station is very nice.

Totally rad, everyone should go here! RV and tent spots, dogs ok on a leash, showers, water everywhere to stay cool and keep doggies cool. Some great lake front sites with lots of privacy and peace, not on display in front of everyone or right next to noisy people. Lol, funny mud around the lake, your feet will sink down deep into the sand, it is a funny surprise and fun, just be careful, wear old...shoes, lol!

This is a pretty area with a beautiful lake. There is a place where you can rent kayaks and also a gift shop. The people I met there were friendly and there is plenty of wildlife including migrating geese, insects such as beetles and some arachnids, and squirrels that will gladly eat a grape from your hand. Not to mention the frogs and the other birds, and the green algae that you can playfully throw at friends in the lake or do scientific experiments on. There is a playground and, frequently, a Kona Ice van passes by. There are community events like a tree leaf identification class for little ones and an eye-opening astronomy gathering where you can see Earth’s moon and the planets. No parking concerns. There is a ranger station if you have any concerns. One time a severe thunderstorm passed through while we were caught with no shelter except the porch of the kayak place, and hail was falling hard. We survived, of course, and it was an exhilarating experience. The swimming area is very peaceful yet lively, and the hiking trails are sure to clear your mind and contribute to the overall atmosphere. You can even find some interesting plant and animal species on the trail! A really nice area!

Nice park with plenty of activities. The trails near the water still have storm debris unfortunately. Generally well maintained facilities. Friendly staff and good general store with fair prices with rentals available. Also free fishing rod rentals are a nice touch. Almost all campsites have 50A electrical hook ups.

This is the state park at Inks Lake, around 10 miles from Burnet in the Texas Hill Country. Park fees apply, day use can be paid for online prior to your visit. Daily use fee ($7 per adult) Otherwise, you can use the state park HQ. Office hours are 8am to 5pm daily. The park itself is open from 6am to 10pm every day. Inks Lake is a flood control lake so the water level varies little. Visitors can enjoy boating, kayaking, swimming and fishing on the water as well as 9 miles of hiking trails and camping within the state park. There is a park store where you can rent paddle boats, kayaks and purchase supply for camping or fishing needs as well. I recently spent a morning in the state park, enjoyed watching a couple anglers land bass and sunfish from the south pier. Also took in a couple of the hiking trails including the Lake Trail and the Pecan Flats Trail, a nice roughly 3 mile walk upon elevated hilly land to the south of the lake where there are some nice viewpoints. Quite a few does and a couple of fawns seen on the morning as well.
