If you love mother nature, hiking, uncovering parts of old history, 1 rock at a time, lots and lots of rock art, lots of pre historic fossels, mostly from the ancient ocean life, some extinct 100s of years ago and more, then on high r grounds in the right areas you could possible come across a verity of dino fossels and sharks teeth even megladone teeth. Death valley is not to far from ridgecrest and all part of the desert, yes death valley is the hottest place in the world so a lot of folks try to avoid travel to death valley in the summer time, also the penicalls is a point of historic interest i belive, I'm still learning about those, very interesting though. Never never ever have I seen lots of traffic jams in this area. The California desert is something to experience that's different to most folks Lots to see and explore. California has sooo many beautiful places to visit, from the beach life, to city life or country life in some big big mountains. Just avoid California politicians all together and stay out of trouble out here also, a lot of bs laws the bs politicians make up or make there own rules in certain countries in California is all I have to say about that, avoid rangers, cops etc as much as possible because they can make your California vacation go bad bad bad before you even expect it, BLM thinks they own and control every inch of land released to them, and make up there own laws whenever needed based of new local city ordance they create. That's all folks come enjoy what California has to offer and don't cut your vacations days to short in California areas, you will enjoy extra hours or nights in certain California places and you can't see everything you might want on your first trip here from a weekend to weeks, months or years. One last warning with the Kern River campgrounds all along one of the deadlines rivers in the united States and please don't forget this warning and pay close attention to everyone in the river hopefully with a life vest and don't understand estimated how quick and powerfull the Kern river can be gone before anyone knows at times. I see sad sad families every single year heading home from there Kern river vacation with 1 or more empty seats and broken hearts heading home. Respect that river with caution on the weaker swimers and it's also one of the prettiest rivers around

Tioga Lake is located outside Lee Vining, California. At 11,000 + feet, it is an opportunity to visit a pristine Alpine Lake without hiking. There is a small spectacular camp site next to the lake. Hiking is easy, parking and dog friendly- dogs should be leashed. Do not bath in the lake or swim to keep the lake pure. Kayaking is allowed, fishing is awesome and the views are breath taking. Pick your trash and leave it as you came, pristine.

The USFS’s general incompetency and specifically Lesly Yen and the Inyo National Forest’s gross mismanagement of the forest has lead to a tyrannical system of control over public lands in this area. Public land is meant to be used by the public. The Inyo National Forest seems to conveniently forget the fact that their duty is to be stewards of the public lands, for the public to enjoy them. Constant road closures, area closures, and projects that drag out over years and years have drastically decreased the public’s ability to recreate on the land promised to us. If a dirt road needs some maintenance, their first reaction is to always close the road rather than fix it. When they rarely do try to fix roads, the timetable is unacceptable. The Reds meadow road reconstruction project has now taken up four full summers and is guaranteed to severely impact summer 2026 making this a five year hindrance to the public. At the same time that they are locking the public out of reds meadow, they are also locking the public out of the Coldwater canyon area and Duck pass trail. These are two of the most popular hiking and sightseeing destinations for tourists and locals alike, in the Mammoth Lakes area. The Inyo National Forest has proved time and time again that they will continue to hinder the public and egregiously mismanage the forest. It’s what they do. The public deserves better than Lesly Yen and the management of the Inyo National Forest

From lone pine all the way up to mammoth lakes is a magical breath taking experience in the inyo forest and Sierra mountain range ❤️🥰 there are different lakes , creeks , campgrounds and trails to explore this mass area 😎❤️ lots of places are free 🤩 just do the research before hand and check reviews for the trails and roads around because sometimes they are paved but most of the time its a smooth dirt road or a bumpy dirt road. Happy exploring and don't leave any trash behind 😎
