The campground itself is beautiful. The 2 stars is for the camp hosts. First the man wanted to choose the site for me which was right next to the host site. He was annoyed that I wanted to pick my own site. Then they wanted my DL# I've camped in BLM and forest campsites all over the west coast and have never once been asked to show my drivers license. EVER. License plate yes, but drivers license? Why? When I asked them, the lady said it was what THEY do, like she owned the place and she was so rude. Nope. Not. Today. Ended up finding this gem instead

Mark the camp host was very accommodating, made checking in a breeze. The views here are amazing!

Beautiful area. Lots to do. The campground is well maintained. Toilets are clean. Don't take site 15. It's adjacent to the boat launch dock parking lot. People use that site as a walkway and are nasty when you request they not walk through your campsite.

We are paying for campground stay at in Inyo County with no water less than a few miles away from Silverlake. Oh Ridge and the Shell station both offered free water, so when the camp host called us “Water thieves” - at first assuming he was joking, then when I said to have a good day. He then responded sarcastically with “You too, with our water”. I was shocked as water is abundant here and offered for free in Inyo County. I didn’t know he personally owned the water rights. Definitely not a human response to something as basic as water use.

Its tent camping but it was amazing and next to the late not far at all to the following lake. Will be back. Some trailer spots seem smaller than what they stated but families were still able to get there trailers in and make due.

Plenty of good camping spots. Good fishing here and also there are a few good hiking trails.

We had site 46. Was able to get 40 mbps on Verizon at the picnic table but most of the area you only get 1-2 bars. The site has pine trees providing shade, great for an RV site during the summer. The water spigots are treaded for 3/4" standard garden hoses, so you can easily fill your water tanks. No dump station here but plenty of easy to access restrooms and showers that offer six minutes of hot water for 4 quarters. Generators allowed from 8am to 8pm. The campground itself is absolutely beautiful. Great hiking nearby, lakes with boat ramps within 10 miles.. Bears in the area but really nice bear boxes for every campsite. Great local shops, restaurants, local brewery, even a post office! Campground closes by November. Best time for yellow trees is last two weeks of October.

No shade. Overpriced. More like fishing some inner city urban lake than one in the great outdoors. People, houses, and businesses everywhere ! I'm never going back to that ugly crud hole!

Great Campground host, Campground is very nice and close to the lake, some sites are hard to back in with trailer but I would recommend clearing a lot of the bushes so you can see the beautiful lake. Our camp sites was surrounded by bushes and you couldn't see anything else, just bushes on all three sides.. It would also be nice if they had a dump station..

2 stars only for the views. Lake and creek were beautiful. Other than that, people ran their loud generators most the day, people parked and walked through campsites, camp host not helpful and disrespectful, loud music played throughout the campground. If you are looking for a quiet peaceful place, this is not the place. People are disrespectful and don't care about how their actions ruin other people's trips.

Really loved the separation we had from the sites next to us. Very easy to find. Campsite host was great, very funny lady. The bathrooms are clean and have flushable toilets. Please remember not to flush feminine products, rocks, wipes (even the flushable kind, their plumbing isn’t as great as ours), or any other objects that don’t belong in a toilet. Not all the bathrooms were open but luckily the closest bathroom was less than 5 minutes walk. You can bring pets here but just make sure to leave them on a leash. There is sign of wildlife around this campground. We noticed deer, bear, and coyote droppings around. Also at night we heard a coyote walk past our campsite and we could hear many coyotes around since you’re basically surrounded by mountains. From our campsite #26 you have the lake right in front of you but it is covered with like bushes/shrubs/trees but there is small little sections where you can get to the lake and take amazing pictures! We went 10/31-11/01/2021 just for a quick get away. The mountains had some snow from a recent storm, looked amazing! There’s also a small waterfall you can see from the campsite. There’s 1 bench and 1 fire pit at the site, and the whole spot is like a dry grassy meadow. We just used our tent and on very windy days you can hear the wind making its way through the mountains and across the lake while making loud ripple noises as it goes through the water. I really enjoyed hearing it but it was very cold. Definitely recommend coming here, it was very beautiful. Getting to this campsite was easy and you can see many lakes on the way to it.
