Great home base to explore big pine Lakes. We camped at campsite 16. Wonderful site away from the smelly restroom and close to the creek. Ate like a king slept like a baby

This campground is fine. The sites are small and really close together. Not a lot of privacy. The sites are also very rocky and it’s hard to find level spots for tents. The bathroom was pretty well maintained and there is a fresh water spigot you can use. It’s a great spot for a short stay if you’re planning on doing some hiking nearby.

Everything was great except the fire pit. It is so tall that cooking food over the fire requires a ton of wood. I stacked rocks and boulders in the pit so I wouldn’t have to use so much wood.

Wonderful location. Quiet and near the Big Pine Lakes trailhead.

Nice camp ground. The bathroom is super clean which is a plus. Another plus is a gallon of water placed in the bear box to put off the pit fire.

Very nice campground right by the river (good white noise).

Nice campground near the famous Big Pine Creek trail. They have bear-safe lockers, washing faucets, and sitting bench. The sound of the creek is really loud. The price for an overnight stay is $27.

Steep grade, our diesel engine got too hot so had to pull over for a bit. No hookups. Beautiful running stream. Very clean campground.

Great campground well kept with shades and close to trailhead

Nice area for the most part. We stayed at camp site #19. Though it is a large site and has direct access to the water, the land by the water smells like feces. I believe the compositing system for the toilet is leaking through the ground and coming out next to the water. There is no other real explanation for the saturated soil and the smell in this single location.

Great campsite near some good long hiking trails. If you're by the road expect full sun, so bring a shade or similar if you're planning on being there in the afternoon in summer. Also, bees. There are bees. However, there's also bear bins, fire pits with grates, and firewood for purchase.

Well kept campground with a mix of sites in sun and shade. Sites along the stream are more shaded than those away from it. The campground is only a mile from the trailhead. We'll definitely camp here again.
