Overview

Iosegun Lake Campground (Town Park) offers a tranquil escape within the lush landscapes of Northern Alberta. Situated just a short drive from the community of Fox Creek, this municipal park provides a scenic lakeside experience that blends convenience with a deep connection to nature. Visitors are greeted by a dense boreal forest and the shimmering waters of Iosegun Lake, creating a peaceful atmosphere for a weekend getaway or a mid-journey stop for those exploring the region.

Location & Surroundings

Located approximately 11 kilometers north of Fox Creek, the campground is easily accessible yet feels worlds away from the highway noise. The park is nestled along the eastern shore of Iosegun Lake, surrounded by towering evergreens and native wildlife. The geography provides excellent wind protection for campers while offering unobstructed views of the water, making it a prime spot for photographers and nature lovers looking to immerse themselves in the quiet beauty of the Silver Birch region.

Amenities & Park Features

The facility caters to various camping styles, offering both powered stalls and non-power sites to suit different RV needs. Guests can enjoy well-maintained fire pits and picnic tables at every site, fostering a classic camping environment. The park features a functional boat launch and a sturdy pier, which serve as central hubs for daily activity. Families often gather at the on-site playground or the beach area, while firewood is typically available for purchase to enhance those evening campfire sessions under the stars.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Outdoor recreation is the primary draw here, with exceptional fishing opportunities for northern pike and walleye right from the shore or by boat. For those looking to explore beyond the water, the surrounding woods offer informal trails perfect for birdwatching or a quiet morning stroll. Since the park is managed by the town, visitors have easy access to Fox Creek’s amenities, including a convenient sani-dump station and local shops for restocking essential supplies, groceries, or fuel before heading back to the lake.

Who This Park Is Best For

This destination is an ideal match for avid anglers and boating enthusiasts who want immediate access to the water from their base camp. Its proximity to town makes it a great choice for families seeking a safe, community-oriented environment with plenty of space for children to play. It also serves as a refreshing nature retreat for long-haul travelers on the Alaska Highway route who prefer a rustic, lakeside setting over a standard gravel roadside RV lot.

This is a very basic campground. No potable water available. We bush camp so no problem. Good fishing!

Stayed here a few years ago. Sites don't have water or power, no potable water. Outhouse washrooms - which were relatively clean. Sites are huge and clean. Firewood is free. The seasonal campers are friendly. Lake is clean. Boat launch w/ parking area was decent size and the beach is a few mins walk from any site.

Private, lush sites. Needed to call a number to be let in (August), hopefully you have cell service. Access to firewood. No potable water. $35 a night, which I thought was relatively quite expensive considering no amenities besides firewood and a pit toilet. The website said $30 so we were unprepared but the campground staff provided change and were friendly and helpful.
