A good stop over spot. A lot of full hookup sites, friendly service, easy to make a reservation, inexpensive. A series of large grassy fields, not very leveled. The hookup locasion a bit confusing. Good drainage, so not too muddy even on rainy days. A large code protected bathhouse with the basic necessities. Clean, and well stocked.

We came during a car show and had a very hard time finding a suitable campsite. Rain had turned many campsites into muddy disasters. All the sites that could be used were occupied. After about a hour of driving around, we found a site that was dry and that we could fit and get into.

Haven't been to the Iowa State in decades. It was awesome. Was able to see a family member quilts she made. I ate some weird foods and got a honker big souvenir cup.

Always fun and educational. Lovwd the horse pull. It was a new to me experience. Those horses are amazing! The horticultural exhibits were fun to see with common and exotic entries. Having been a 4 H member in my youth we had to go through those exhibits and were impressed with the broad selection of entries. One disappointment is that it seems they prefer to rent scooters rather than providing trolleys. The trolley available seems to loop through the campground only. I am not so infirm as to need a wheel chair or power scooter, but could use an assist now and then. We had no need for the rides or junk food, finding enough to do without them. We did love the shrimp bowl and shrimp tacos! And of course, we stopped by the Pork Producers for a reasonably priced and nutritional meal. It was a great day!

We camped the past few days and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The campground hosts were friendly and there were plenty of sites from which to choose. The campground is very convenient...it takes just 10-12 minutes to reach downtown. You also have nice views and easy access to the State Fair property. We love walking and walked the periphery for a nice 2.75 miles.

There is not one level spot in the whole campground. We tried 4 different spots. There was holes and the ground was mudding and the grass and weeds needed to be cut. Not taken care of very well. And people need to make sure to clean up after There pets. Dogs and Horses it was disgusting to see so much laying around.

I was not there I just looked at the website. However based on Governor Kim Reynolds's statements stating " I'm loving it" and " people are so happy to be here". Sounds like it was fun for people to get out in the community by walking around, eating, people watching, games, rides etc.

I love camping here we come every year for the Goodguys car show. I do wish that they would make so up grades to the camp grounds such as paving or rocking each camp site so it was not a mud pit when it rains, putting sewage hook up at all of the camp sites would also be wonderful, and a plat ground for the kids would also be great for the times you are camping and it is not fair time.
