J. Strom Thurmond Lake - COE/Clay Hill
J Strom Thurmond Lake, also known as Clarks Hill Lake, is a reservoir located along the Savannah River on the Georgia-South Carolina border. It is the largest lake in the southeastern United States and is named after the late U.S. Senator Strom Thurmond. The lake is located in Lincoln County, Georgia, and is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The lake is a popular destination for fishing, boating, camping, and other outdoor activities. The lake is also home to several species of fish, including largemouth bass, striped bass, crappie, and catfish.
