We liked this campground because of its proximity to highways, stores & restaurants nearby & the Dinosaur Journey museum is within a walking distance. There are a couple of lakes within the campground, a dog friendly environment, picnic areas and a nice playground for kids. The amenities include washer/dryer, clean bathrooms with shower. The sites are spacious, some have full hookups, a lot of shaded trees which keeps you cool when days are hot. Generally peaceful & quiet except for the trains nearby that comes roaring in the middle of the night. The Colorado Nat’l Monument & the orchards in Palisade is just a short drive.

Welcome, adventurers, to a charming stop at this well-loved State Park, a convenient and scenic spot perfect for your next road trip! Nestled close to the freeway and cradled between dramatic canyon walls, this park offers a unique setting with plenty to explore. As you settle in, you’ll find most campsites equipped with power, making your stay comfortable and hassle-free. The park is a popular destination, so expect a lively atmosphere, though it does show signs of its heavy use. Its prime location near the river and two lakes offers opportunities for water fun, but stick to the clearer lake for a refreshing dip—the other can be murky and less inviting. For nature lovers and families alike, the park provides all the essentials you need for a great stay. A quick tip: the shower rooms can get steamy and stuffy, especially after a busy day with lots of visitors. Plan to freshen up early in the morning for the most comfortable experience. The park’s proximity to a charming old town and nearby attractions makes it an ideal base for exploring the area. You’ll also find stores just a short drive away for any supplies you might need. The friendly staff is here to help, and the park’s location makes it a fantastic stopover on your journey. Whether you’re relaxing by the river or venturing out to nearby sights, this State Park offers a convenient and pleasant escape. Pack your bags, enjoy the adventure, and make the most of this delightful destination!

Amazing facilities!!! Loved the peace and quiet of the campground and the shade structures were perfect for the warm afternoon sun! Going back in two weeks!

I wasn't expecting to pay $47 to park my van for the night. On the plus side they had 30 amp service. Be prepared for a long wait to check in if you're just stopping by. It took me about 45 minutes.

This place Is a little piece of heaven. Right down to the super friendly staff. Mountain views out every window. We stayed in extra day just because it is so amazing. When you travel full time and see campgrounds from all over the country. It is so great to find a place like this.

I'm giving this place a tentative 5-star, having not yet stayed here. The location is excellent and surrounded by stunning vistas with ponds and the Colorado River running along one side. Swimming is allowed in one of the pods, but only from May to October. The full hookups RV loops are only open from April through October. My wife and I travel I-70 from time to time, so I'm sure we'll be back here to experience the park in earnest. For now, we've only had a look around and walked our dogs here, but it looks like an amazing place to stay.

We really enjoyed our stay at the James M. Robb State Park - Island Acres Section. We had a campsite right on the Colorado River. Right across from a beautiful Mesa. Our site amenities included electric hook ups, a fire ring picnic table with a small shelter. Although it is conveniently located close to route 70, the highway traffic did not bother us. They have a nice campground service building with restrooms and free hot showers as well as a laundry room. The park also features a couple of fishing ponds, picnic areas an amphitheater, gazebo and a playground.

Definitely a must see. This campground is clean and located in a beautiful setting. There is a train track nearby that creates some noise but it's not excessive. The campground is located next to the Colorado river which is full and rushing by due to the warming temperature. Big spaces, unique pavilians at every site. Somewhat easy to get - I booked a Friday night about a week ago.

Great place for camping that is near the highway without too much noise. The views of the mountains and Colorado River are great. Easy walking trail along the river. Restrooms have showers and are kept very clean. Reasonably priced for tent, electric, and full hook-ups. Can be windy thus the structures at the picnic tables. Decent space between sites but has few trees around the open fields.

Pretty spot by a small lake, and lots of mountains. We camped by tent. Lots of sites available. Running water and toilets

Nice clean park just east of Grand Junction. It has big spacious lots with full hook ups. Right on the river.
