We’ve spent 2025 visiting all 48 lower states in our 5th wheel. Colorado is state 47 of 48 and the campsites and amenities at James Robb State Park are probably the best we’ve seen. Beautiful well maintained and spaced sites on the Colorado River near the Colorado National Monument and Grand Junction Colorado. Highly recommended (November 2025).

Fabulous campground! Spots right next to each other but they're staggered well so you don't feel like others are in your space. Clean bathrooms with running water and showers! Paved road for bikes and boards. Quaint walking path next to the river. Beautiful views. Within a 20 minute drive to Palisade City for Walmart and plenty food selections.

It's visually pretty here despite being right in town. Beware, there is a train that runs very close! It sounds like it's running thru camp and it does run over night. I think that was the biggest draw back. There are 2 lakes. We paddleboarded on one of them a few times and it was not crowded. We weren't here on a weekend tho. The sites are nice and have full hookup. There are people maintaining the park regularly. We saw a guy walking around the lake picking up trash. The town is close so you can get anything you need. The cell service here is excellent. Despite people coming and going it's fairly quiet, except for time loud train and some road noise. The view of time Monument from the lake is beautiful. We did see some people fishing.

Nice little park and grounds. Very dry grounds. However, it has several ponds, which I guess you can fish a few of them. I have no idea what you can catch or even if they are safe to eat. One po d looks like it has red already in it. I'd suggest you just keep away from that one totally. Staff are really nice! Have no idea why they black off the entrance where people who have already registered and have a parks pass should be able to just drive into their spot after they have done so. But it is blacked and you have to wait in line to get back to your camp while the staff at the window, answers all the questions and do any paperwork, etc, that the 4 cars, RV's, and/or trucks ahead of you. I appreciate they provide the good customer service, but it seems idiotic to make the already registered and set up patrons wait.

We are having a wonderful stay here, in fact we booked it for 2 more nights some of the best sleep I have ever had and there is a train that comes by you don't even notice it, So relaxing and close to a lot of cool stuff to check out near here. I just want to point out you can stuff delivered from Walmart in case you get here and don't want to leave, it is kinda a pain and you should tip well cash tip I mean but it can happen I did it!

This is a great location. The scenery is great, the campground is great.the campground sites are level with water and electric, fire pit, converted picknic table. One of the better campground we have experienced. Very nice bath house and laundry too. There is an entry fee to the park in addition to your camping fees. Staff were top notch. We would definitely visit here again if we are in the area.

Fishing, kayaking, bike riding, walking trails, the Colorado River, a playground for the kids, bald eagles, day use areas and some pavilions available to rent for events hot showers, clean restrooms, of course camping, covered shelters at each camp site. This campground is one of our favorites. Traffic noise from I-70 can be heard constantly because you are camping between mountainous cliff walls and the sound ricochets within the valley, but it's not obnoxiously loud during the day and traffic is minimized during night/dark hours. There is also a sports sh00ting complex a mile or three away in Cameo, so sometimes you can hear ongoing target practice. It was no bother to us, but some people may be sensitive to certain sounds.

Checked in per the sign, and let me tell you, these folks thought I was the coolest cat without even paying a dime! Not the most dog-friendly spot, but if you're a furry friend, you're welcome to tag along. The views of the lake and the Grand Canyon (Grand Junction is its gateway) are absolutely stunning. Definitely added some pep to my morning run!

James M. Robb is a beautiful state park with a very nice and clean campsite for fifth wheels, campers, and RVs. There's plenty of parking, including a huge parking lot for multiple cars and RV's next to the boat ramp into the Colorado River. There's a clean and well taken care of playground for kids to enjoy. You can reserve a large fenced-in grass area with a large covered area and picnic benches for family parties, gatherings, or reunions. A wide, smooth 2 lane walking and biking path goes around and throughout the park, with a long stretch along the beautiful Colorado River, which has an amazing background of the Colorado National Monument. Opposite of this stretch of smooth paved path is a gorgeous nature preserve and lake with lush tall grass and flowers that is off limits to access. This is a favorite spot for the town locals to come to in the mornings to walk, jog, and bike. The path and park are pet friendly with multiple trashcans and free plastic poop bags to clean up after your furry friends. In various and multiple locations, there are also benches where you can sit to rest, take in the wonderful atmosphere, or enjoy some quiet time with a loved one or friend. This state park is in a secluded yet convenient location right off of the I70 interstate, with major franchises and local restaurants right outside the entrance. A City Market supermarket is also close and within a 5 minute drive on the other side of the interstate in case you stay a few days and need to replenish your goods or grab something that you forgot to bring.
