Great campsite for our cub scouts! Great fire pit in place and plenty of room for tents and activities. Everyone had a blast.

Stopped for a picnic and watched some fireman do some swift water rescue training at the spillway. Would be a great picnic area, however the grass was knee high and there were no restrooms close, or any maps that we could find.

Great park with friendly people! Fishing is great from the spillway. The only problem I had was the is a lot of stray cats and raccoons. Make sure all food is out and trash is in the dumpster or you will have a mess!

Restrooms were not good No hot water for the ladies shower. We've been camping here 2 times a year for the last 3 years. On next to last day the power to the whole park was shut down with no notice. 97 degrees with no power. I won't be returning to John Kyle State Park

I will be coming here again. I want the same spot I had this trip. It was by the restroom/shower & at the water where I could put my kayak in from there or watch the sun set. The rangers are so friendly.
