Restaurant. I have been coming here since it was run under a previous generation. My most recent visit still brought me some decent home style food but I left disappointed. I always liked their desserts and ordered a slice of huckleberry pie. It was very good but then I got the bill and it was $16!! Surprise! I thought another area place was overcharging at $10 for a piece. This was better but $16 is more than they used to charge for their huge specialty ice cream pie. At least that was a menu price item. Pie was not listed now and I did not ask ahead of time so part of the blame is on me. Lesson learned and it does make me think twice about coming again which makes me sad. Lot of great memories here going way back. Just going to make more pies at home now.

We came for both sets of reviews. The ones where the person in charge of media roasts everyone and the ones raving about the food. Any place where a restaurant can tell people how it truly is is a place fine by me :) . Tom was our server and man did he kick ass. He sat and greeted people, ran food did half the dining room solo and still while maintaining a fabulous attitude and great demeanor. Food was fantastic we did huckleberry everything 😂. Got the bison buffalo barley soup with the bbq brisket lunch special. That soup was so damn good. Kudos to the back of the house team! Love the decor and family vibes. Love the fun cracks at the California people (I’m a San Diego transplant ) the family history all over the place. This place was awesome. Next time we’ll be sure to stay at the campground

Loved everything about this place. The motel is very homey and clean, the desk clerk was so friendly and accommodating. The restaurant has the most amazing food , all homemade. And if you are lucky enough to meet the head cook and owner Nathan, it makes it even more special. My husband and I travel quite a bit,and I can honestly say this is one place I will never forget. It's that special. Do yourself a favor if you happen to come this way and stop in, you won't regret it.

Cozy atmosphere with great views. Nice mom and pop feel. Very friendly and attentive staff. Family style soup and sides was nice. The walleye was delicious. The chicken fried steak was ok. The huckleberry and thimble berry cheesecakes were very overpriced and underwhelming.

A five star rating doesn’t do this restaurant any justice, it deserves so much more. I went on a week-long vacation to glacier national park with 2 of my friends, we went to Johnson’s Cafe 3 times, and twice in one day. They run a tight ship, many of their dishes don’t offer substitutes which would be completely unnecessary. However, even though the restaurant is very old-school they do offer vegetarian options. The food itself is phenomenal, every bite is nostalgic, you can taste that the recipes are family made, dining at this restaurant reminds you of home, no matter where you’re from. The service is comparable to what I’ve experienced at some of the nicest steakhouses I’ve been to. The waiters and waitresses treat you like royalty, they don’t need to “grab a dessert menu” they have it memorized, they know how much to charge for the small substitutions they do offer. If you treat them with basic kindness and respect you will get more in return, but if you go the extra mile to show your appreciation and gratitude towards the staff, they treat you better than royalty, they treat you like family (even if you are a city slicker dressed head to toe in Patagonia and north face). I’m extremely grateful towards all the staff at Johnson’s who made our stay in Montana so worth it, eating here was certainly a highlight of the trip. I have a strong feeling I’ll be coming back, and even if that’s 40 years from now, it’ll still be the same.

This review is for the restaurant. I did not stay at the campground. The food was the best that I had during my entire week at glacier national park (we stayed on the west side where there were tons of other restaurants). The service was great, and our waitress was very sweet and informative. I got the jammer burger and buffalo soup. This item is pricey but worth every penny! I could’ve taken down another bowl of that soup for sure. I’ll be dreaming about the huckleberry lemonade until the next time I’m lucky enough to eat here! Also, the decor is very entertaining.

This is some of the best food we had in a 6 week trip of the northwest, could not recommend highly enough! Real homestyle cooking and excellent service and vibes. Had the chicken fried steak sandwich on home bread bread which was incredible and the side soup it came with (bison and grain) was just incredible!

Favourite place I’ve eaten on our holiday. Firstly, the food is great. Secondly, the place has character and a soul. This is somewhere from our trip we will actually remember. The menus offer stories and an insight into this restaurant which clearly means so much to so many. The food was fast and delicious, the server was polite and attentive. Did we get call hippies? Yep. Did it make us laugh? Also yes. Thank you for the effort you put in to keep places like this with so much personality alive in a world increasingly full of cookie cutter establishment's.

The hostess, Leah was amazing. The time we had to wait for our meal was very short. That was good as we were both very tired and hungry. The ambiance is western. Very quaint. We ordered the special. It was berry roasted beef. It was very chewy and dry. Not what I expected after reading so many very positive reviews. Perhaps the chef had a bad day.

We did not stay here, just stopped for lunch after going through Glacier. Everything was delicious and home made. I had the moose sandwich on their homemade bread and my husband had the blue cheese wedge salad. Our server was so sweet and attentive. Great experience, so glad we stopped.

A great location with a terrific view of Glacier across the valley, an older campground and the spaces are a bit close together, bathrooms and showers are dated ..... but work fine, wifi is acceptable if you have a booster or sit down outside the office on the picnic tables to access it. ( it is an older mom and pop campground) the staff interaction was great, no complaints at all , we would and will stay here again upon revisiting Glacier.

First the positives - great location, close to Glacier Park Going to the Sun entrance. Lots of amenities on site, including a nice restaurant. Now the other comments - it is a large lot, with all options for stays. The tough part is the sites are not level (at all) especially on the hill where we were placed. We had an issue with our scissor jacks sliding and needed a tow truck in the morning to assist. We noticed our neighbor camper that pulled in asked for a new spot, due to the non level ground. The owners (assuming they the older gentleman that came from the shop) were not very pleasant or helpful (although the staff was). One of the men commented rudely about our dogs. Overall, it’s all about location and we heard the restaurant is good.

If you’re coming to Glacier, this is the only campground you need to stay at. Restrooms, Showers, Wi-fi, Laundromat, great views and clean amenities everywhere. There is amazing cell phone reception everywhere around this area and best of all, food, groceries and the Sun Road entry are all within a mile from here. Great stop for camping if one plans to hike from either Logan Pass or Many Glacier. The best campground in and around Glacier, period.

This place has a beautiful view. The food was good. The staff is very friendly. But the wfy didn’t work looks like it never does. They probably say that to everyone but have no intention to fix it but you still pay 55 dollars a night. The grass could have been cut around the sites. Still had a good time at glacier Montana.
