What a beautiful camp grounds and friendly staff. If you are looking for good tent camping or RV, with showers and bathrooms, this is the spot. Beautiful scenery and safe camping area.

My Favorite State Park, near Raliegh. Great for watersports, kayaking, sailing, and most others. The place encompasses nearly the entire lake, making all of it accessible by boat or hiking. Be aware of the rubber earing Teredactils A.K.A Black Vultures. Look them up. They really rip cars up. The rangers come thru and run them off if they spot them hanging out in the trees.

Nice quiet campground. We stayed in loop c. Fishing was good. Campsite had power and water connections. Bathhouse was clean. Camp host was nice, helpful and informative.

What a sweet spot. Boaters, campers haven. I believe a few sites actually have boat access! The bath houses are basic, well kept and the showers, three stalls, are hot. Walk to the “beach” or take a short drive over to a beach also within the park grounds. They have beach, playground and restrooms. The campsites are well divided with trees and brush. I believe they all have some amount of shade as this is a wooded area. Hard to believe you’re so close urban life out here. Grocery, restaurants all 20 minutes away. Find gas and fully stocked mart lass than 5 minutes drive. But be ready to pay for convenience! I highly recommend reserving in advance as I did not and the gate personnel did not arrive until 2pm that day. I later discovered reservations can be made at Reserve America day of arrival.

First time here for this Army Veteran. Stayed this past weekend 25 March- 28 March 2022. Campgrounds were clean. The view of the lake was awesome. Fishing on our boat was slow. Pretty windy on the lake. Staff was friendly. Had fun. Though the out of control barking mutt next to us was irritating. Will camp in our usual spot Kerr lake VA side.

(Loop B) Lovely wooded lakeside campsites. Beach area for swimming. Two bathroom facilities (one with showers). HUGE double campsites. Water and electricity only. No sewage. Double dump station.

Had a great experience here. Very safe and well screened. Major gas station and Hardee's a few minutes away. Very easy to find. Right off 64 but still remote and quiet. Very nice folks.

A beautiful campground with a lovely lake. I give it 4 stars for one reason. The bathrooms, though clean, had automatic showers where you cannot control the temperature. In cold weather with bathrooms that are not heated it would be nice to control the water temperature. Automatic showers sound like a good idea until you try them. It sprays you when you try to put your body wash and shampoo on the shelf by the faucet, and then it shuts off automatically whether you are done or not. While you are drying off it turns back on and gets you and your towel wet. Also there is not a dry place for you to step out and dress. If they would improve the showers that would greatly improve the experience. Pros: Each campsite has a fire ring, picnic table, electric and water. Nature trails The lake is nice

I am updating my review since the entire camps atmosphere has done a 180 due to weekend party crowd leaving. Now it’s like THE most peaceful quiet place and exactly what we like when camping. As my other review said it’s all about your neighbors IMO! So if you seek quiet get here Sunday . We leave Tuesday. I’m so much happier now without non stop screaming. Although people drive really really fast through here almost as if on main road at least 35 mph. More speed signs could help but lots people only see their own stuff.
