Quiet. Very quiet. Dark for sky gazing. But. Spot(s) very uneven. Some, mine, hard to back in. Road small and neighbor's post was in the was to swing my trucks front end. Only Electricity. Restrooms really need cleaning. Camp host nice. Manager nice. I can't imagine when they full, the small Restroom and shower house can support everyone. You really need a fully self contained off grid RV for comfort. At least IMHO.

I've used this campground numerous times, and it is a nice state park campground. But, contrary to a lot of other reviews, the DO NOT have 50 amp sites! Only 30 amps to all the sites. I'm there right now, and none of the sites have 50 amps. If you have a larger rig with two A/C units, you can only run one of them, as running both of the A/C units on a hot day will throw the breaker at the pole (just happened to me).

We are so impressed with Jubilee State Park! The campground is beautifully maintained and spotlessly clean. We are currently mooch docking with family nearby and are grateful for the convenient $5 access to the dump station and fresh water fill, a huge help while staying in the area. It’s a wonderful resource, and we really appreciate how well cared for everything is. Thank you!

Rode the horse trails yesterday. I hadn't been there in 30 years. The trails are nice. The ones I took were trimmed and marked. Maps are available and easy to read. Primitive camping but water is available. I think they have electric for handicapped . It is handicapped accessible with a mounting area. Out house was clean and stocked with TP 🙂 Met some nice ladies out riding that invited me to ride with them. I declined, they planned to take a 4 hour. I rode out alone for a few hours. Coming back to camp I met another nice lady who also invited me to ride. She just wanted to go for an hour or so so I said yes and we had a wonderful time. I will be going back.

This is a lovely place---quiet, peaceful, and green (in summer and fall). And, it's surprisingly dark for clear and stunning starry nights

Beautiful! And just 30 min from home for me. Easy enough to find, however easier access to the fields was found on Thousand Dollar Road, just down the road and one turn from the location that the map leads you to. Seems to be cars always parked along the sides of the road, so look for that!

Review Date: October 14th, 2015 First impressions are hard to change… If you live in Illinois at all, you know of the budget cuts, budget cuts, tax increases, budget cuts. Jubilee College State Park is one of those that has been hit by budget cuts. Decided to check this place and Jubilee Cafe out in the same day. My first time there, I encountered a few areas that were closed due to inadequate staffing. So a lot of places have become overgrown and broken down. This state park is beautiful and it’s a shame that it is in such a bad shape. While looking up some info on it to write this short blog, it appears that after 3 years they finally have a (volunteer?) Park Ranger and a volunteer group to help clean the place up and make it usable. Having never been here, I tried quite a few different places that I thought were openings to go hiking, but I really never could tell what was what since everything was overgrown. Now if this volunteer group is helping out and making the place a bit friendlier, I would love to go back and check it out again. Maybe even update this blog post. I just hope I don’t have to mark it ‘Closed’. It fills me with such sorrow that beautiful recreational places like these are cut short on budgets and fall into disuse. I won’t get into politics, but I hope they figure something out and restore this park and all the other closed/understaffed to their rightful natural beauty.

This is a beautiful state park. There were lots of hideaway areas for privacy and outdoor pavilions. It is filled with wildflowers which was perfect for our photography session. We also enjoyed just driving around. The old church and graveyard was interesting. It also made perfect photography opportunities. I would love to go back and see it in the fall. I would also like to take more time to explore.
