Just one section is open since Helene. Great location right off the Parkway and close to Blowing Rock. Camp sites, bathrooms, but no showers.

Beautiful park. Restrooms are ok. No showers as of now because of the hurricane but well worth the drive and stay.

Nice lake and campground for families to couples. There is plenty of campsites from tents to RV's. Activities include kyaking, canoes, boating, hiking, fishing, and more. There is an amphitheater that offers live music and theater events check schedule to see what's offered. Sites are nice, level with outdoor grilling on some with bathhouses located in each section. Even nice place to stop just for a picnic while on the parkway. Not to mention it's convenient on your way to Linn Cove ViaDuct that wraps around Grandfather Mountain, NC. I would highly recommend if you're planning on camping to make a list and be sure you have everything you need as no stores within many miles. Especially food for cooking, bathing and firewood for firepits.

We have stayed (tent camped) at this campground a few times over the years and it use to be alright. Sadly this weekend we stayed and left a day early due to the over whelming screaming, hooting, Hollering and children screaming. And the SMOKE om gods the smoke. It was like trying to stay in a frat house that's burning down. The first night it sounded like there was a big rager party going on that didn't quiet down before 10. (10pm-6am quiet time), I had to sleep with a blanket over my face from all the smoke. Finally was able to sleep then 6am sharp the party plus some kicked back up. We spoke with the desk and I'll admit the front desk workers deserve 5 ⭐ they were very kind. Sadly they didn't boot the trouble makers even after admitting they had a idea who we were complaining about because others had also and that group doesn't listen to them (front desk) about quieting down. So why did they not get booting. No idea. Showers, there are 6 showers and toilets, but if you want more then a barely Luke warm shower you are in the wrong place. They have signs up saying maybe closed between 12pm-3pm for cleaning. But by the look of the bathrooms/showers they aren't cleaned that regularly. If you just need to use the toilet there is no soap to even wash your hands with. And if you aren't from around the area there is ZERO cell service. For tent camping they have also upped the price to $30.00 a night and took just about all the first come first serve sites so you need to make reservations. All in all Major disappointment specially with the no money back.

This is a nice campground located right off the Blue Ridge Parkway. The location is great. It has tall trees, right in the woods, but there is not much privacy as the sites are very close together. The parking spots at the sites are paved but very short. There are concrete picnic tables and fire pits, potable water, bathrooms with flush toilets, and 1 bathhouse. The bathhouse is great as they are stand-alone units with toilet, sink, heaters, showers all in one room, with a locking door so you can do everything at once, then leave. The issue is not enough of these shower/bathroom rooms for the number of sites at the campground. I would recommend based on location, but not for amount of amenities.

If your going camping this is a beautiful spot. They have plenty of sites with great views, hot shower, and its 4min from grandfather mountain.

Fantastic campground off the Blue Ridge parkway between Boone and Blowing rock. It's on a wonderful mountain lake with Kayaks available for rent. We only got random cell service but there is wifi at the kayak rental office. Several tent sites in the upper areas but none will work for an RV. We got a spot in the lower area by the lake. This place is not suited for larger rigs or big trailers.Only a few sites with actual lake access but a nice 2.3 mile trail goes around the entire lake.

The bathrooms & showers were a bit run down. I also felt that the parking spaces were a bit small. The boathouse was not open while we were there so never got to explore the lake. It was a pretty area to camp though. Our campsite was surrounded by beautiful*giant* rhododendron bushes which provided privacy. It is also in close proximity to beautiful Boone & Blowing Rock. The lake was beautiful!

Ideally located campground near Blowing Rock and Boone and the idyllic Blue Ridge Parkway. The camp itself is pretty nice, but some spots could be a little more suited for RV. Don’t expected any cell reception at least in loop A (august 2021). Restrooms are maintained but old.

Enjoyed 3 nights on B Loop during the 4th of July weekend. Nice campsite near the trail head for Boone Loop Trail. Bathrooms on the loop were close but did not offer power. C Loop has no bathrooms. Showers with power were very nice and on D Loop which was about 5 minute walk from our site. Short 10 minute walk across the Parkway to Price Lake. 3 great hiking trails either within or walking distance from campground. Good neighbors and very pleasant and chill weekend off the Blue Ridge Parkway.
