It's really quite during the week the weekend wasn't too bad either. The camp site hosts do a great job of keep everything clean. They are very friendly

This was our 3rd time staying. Long story short we had an emergency and had to leave a day early. I attempted to get a refund for the last day and was told the money had been "turned in". It was the weekend, you don't have $35 or whatever it was to refund me fee? Very distasteful move. We love the place, not because of the staff, so we'll will probably be back but just a low class move on her part.

I don't usually like campgrounds and being near other people but the hosts here keep this place top notch. Bathrooms are clean and they enforce the rules. It was very pleasant, quiet, and wildlife wonder thru the camps, such as a doe and her 2 fawns. It's so nice that it is kept so clean and quiet. I appreciate it when rules are enforced.

Read until the end….Well, to start off, I am exploring the Flagstaff lakes, sunsets, photography and fishing spots. I was so disappointed in several different areas of this park. Met at the gate by a man named Jerry, who all but almost refused me entry until I told him my boyfriend was already inside. After purchasing a day pass I still had nearly an hour. After using the facilities that were absolutely full of trash full of flies not cleaned all day. Took a half hour to drive to get through all the rough roads just get to the gate. Then a quick five minute walk and could have taken awesome pictures of the sunset and osprey if they would actually close the gate a small time after sunsets. Or offer some outside parking so that people can actually enjoy this so rare beauty. I felt that even with an annual pass are they using it or pocketing it all? My boyfriend said the same sketchy and pushy obtrusive behavior has happened to him as well on Father’s Day. So sad that a so called state treasure isn’t being cared for. Consider getting cleaner workers with some longer hours. …. A week later, we decided to go back but go through the other side… where we were met pleasantly by Shana and Eddie. Great host clean side of the park. Clean toilets. Very attractive lake with fish worth spending an afternoon. Thank you Shana for changing the experience at your side of the lake… hey everyone go to the trailhead instead of the north side. Such a huge difference.

Absolute Nightmare. Avoid Dogtown Lake Campground at All Costs If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Dogtown Lake Campground is hands down the worst campground I’ve ever visited. Let’s start with the so-called “hosts” a couple who act like they’re playing campground instead of running one. They have no idea who’s coming in, who’s paid, or even who’s supposed to be there. There’s no system, no records, no professionalism. It’s like dealing with two forgetful kids who were left in charge of something way above their level. The bathrooms? Horrific. They smell worse than hell I’m not exaggerating. Just walking past them is enough to make your stomach turn. And good luck finding toilet paper or cleanliness. As for the campground itself, don’t let the pictures fool you. It’s not beautiful the grounds are poorly maintained, the lake is underwhelming, and the atmosphere feels more depressing than peaceful. Skip this place. Save your time, money, and sanity. There are far better campgrounds in Arizona that are actually run by adults.

We only used a one day pass to go fishing. The lake is pretty low, but welcome to AZ in the summertime. We did catch a total of 6fish, but only kept 3 bass. The weather was beautiful. The camp host was very nice and informative.

Beautiful lake. Good trout fishing. Electric boats, kayaking, but no swimming. Nice campgrounds for tents, motor homes, trailers 5th wheels, vans, etc. No hookups, community water, and bathrooms. 20 min drive south of Williams, Arizona. Mostly paved, except for the last 5 miles, is wash board dirt road. Not bad for any type of vehicle. I believe they just started charging about an $8 fee for day use. Reservations are recommended for a camp site, which are usually open May thru September.

The host Brandon and Danyal were awesome, everything was clean and they were always nice toward us, I highly recommend staying at this campsite and fishing, fish were biting everyday, I only fished for trout and caught my limit everyday.

Dogtown lake & campground is difficult to access. I would not recommend towing a trailer or navigating a large rv to the lake itself. The gravel based access road is somewhat rugged and there are tough spots along the way. There is no swimming in the lake. There are camp spaces available for rent. Fishing was allowed and the vaulted bathrooms were open. The bbqs were broken.

You have to educate yourself about their rules regarding fires. It seems that the fire cannot be over 2 ft above the pit nor can you teepee the wood to start a fire. This is why I gave 3 ⭐️'s for service. The camp host was a senior and was a tad too serious about his job. He proceeded to tell me that I was going to be responsible for the entire forest. I get his point, his delivery is what sucked. Overall the park is a good family place with the lake very close by.

This locale. Is unmatched by any spot in it's forest in my opinion. It's a moderate drive. Most vehicles can make it, no views better than dogtown, fun for the loaners to the whole family. I highly recommend if you want some nature, to go here and enjoy it.

We went here in December. The campground was closed but the lake was open. Fishermen were fishing from the shore and in boats. Not sure if they were successful. The area is absolutely beautiful. Much larger lake than I figured it would be. Great family gathering area with several pavilions and outdoor grills. Picnic table a plenty.

Peaceful and beautiful setting. We saw 3 eagles and watched a rainstorm develop. There was a nice trail around the lake.
